Le Français a terminé le Jour 3 en 3e position à 6 left avec un tapis de 39 blindes (1,9 million de jetons) pour le restart au Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino et . L'Américain David Gonzalez a terminé en tête avec 4,295,000 soit 86 blindes à la reprise, il repartira devant le Canadien Guillaume Nolet (3,960,000).

L'Américain David Dibernardi (1,365,000) et le joueur partypoker Patrick Leonard (1,320,000) sont encore largement dans la course alors que David Weinstein (515,000) devra vite mettre ses 10 blindes au milieu.

Filmé par les caméras de Dans La Tête D'un Pro depuis la moitié du Jour 1, Value Merguez compte bien empêcher cette brochette de David d'être couronnée roi, il aura surtout une belle occasion d'étoffer son palmarès qui compte déjà plusieurs bagues WSOP Circuit... "Je vais me montrer patient jusqu'à ce que le short se fasse sortir [...] ensuite la stratégie est claire : jouer la gagne. Les deux premières journées de compétition ont permis de faire passer le champs des participants de 671 entrants à 14 rescapés. 148 joueurs sont entrés dans l'argent au Jour 2 et 14 sont revenus pour le Jour 3.

Patrick Leonard a débuté sa journée par un double-up crucial avant que Will Givens (14e - $15,618) ne se fasse éliminer par David Gonzalez, déjà en tête du tournoi. Allen Berger (13e - $15,618) et le Suédois Michael Tureniec (12e - $19,690) n'ont pas vu la première pause tandis que Jonas Mackoff (11e - $19,690) et Karen Sarkisyan (10e - $19,690) ont frôlé l'ultime table.

Diego Zeiter a été victime d'Ivan Deyra sur la deuxième main suivant la réunification et Dennis Brand (8e - $33,032) a sauté dans la foulée.

L'élimination d'Andres Nemeth a ensuite signifié la fin de journée. La reprise aura lieu avec 15 minutes à jouer dans le niveau 25 000 - 50 000 (50 000). "Je ne vise rien d'autre que le bracelet", a prévenu Ivan Deyra !
