There are a ton of great storylines entering the final day of action in Event #69: $1,500 Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better, and they begin right at the top of the chip counts from the remaining 13 players.
World Series of Poker bracelet winners John Racener (1,220,000) and John Monnette (1,165,000) are in search of their second and fifth bracelets respectively. A win for Racener would vault him into contention for WSOP Player of the Year, while Monnette could potentially grab his second title this year alone, after claiming the $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship last month.
Right behind them on the leaderboard is Esther Taylor (1,100,000), who along with Carol Fuchs (940,000), will be trying to become the first woman to win a bracelet at this year’s WSOP. Taylor is in search of her first piece of WSOP jewelry, while Fuchs is after her second, having won the $1,500 Dealer’s Choice event in 2015.
Also over a million chips to start the day is John Hoang (1,065,000), who has a pair of WSOP Stud and Stud 8 or Better final tables to his name from back in 2004 and 2006. He’ll also be in search of a long-awaited bracelet today.
Day 1 chip leader Jermaine Reid (725,000) is also still in the field with a healthy stack. With a previous best-ever WSOP cash of $5,605 to his name, he’s on the verge of bettering that number and then some, with the $113,459 top prize firmly in his sights.

The players will gather in the gold section of the Amazon room at 3:00 pm today to play down to a winner, beginning at level 25 with a 10,000 chip ante and bring-in, and limits of 30,000 and 60,000. Levels will again be 60-minutes long with 15-minute breaks every two levels, and a potential dinner break to be determined as the day progresses.

Jermaine Reid completed before Joseph Kupresanin raised. Peder Berge then attempted to raise but didn't put in enough chips. The floor had to be called over to sort out the amount of Berge's raise, then Reid called.
Kupresanin raised again, and both opponents called. Berge bet on fourth, Reid called, and Kupresanin called all in. Berge picked up a third deuce on fifth and Reid folded to a bet as the players put the cards on their backs.
