Greenwood Gets Value from Kings

Niveau 4 : 7,000/14,000, 14,000 ante
Lucas Greenwood
Lucas Greenwood

Lucas Greenwood opened to 30,000 from early position and was called by a player in middle position along with the big blind. The flop fell {10-Spades}{6-Spades}{5-Hearts} and the big blind checked to Greenwood who continued for 50,000. His opponent in middle position raised to 155,000 while the big blind mucked. Greenwood stuck around to see the {j-Diamonds} land on the turn.

Both players checked to the {3-Diamonds} on the river where Greenwood led out for another 300,000. His opponent thought for a minute and then eventually called. Greenwood flipped over {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} and his opponent sent his cards to the muck.

Lindsay Running Up a Stack Early On

Niveau 4 : 7,000/14,000, 14,000 ante
Katie Lindsay
Katie Lindsay

Katie Lindsay recently took her seat in the Main Event and wasted little time before building heaps of chips in front of her. There were five players who saw a flop of {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} for 31,000 each. The action checked around to Lindsay in the hijack who bet 60,000 and was called by the preflop raiser under the gun.

The {10-Hearts} on the turn paired the board and both players checked to the {5-Diamonds} on the river. The under-the-gun player led out for 75,000 and Lindsay snap-called. He tabled {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and Lindsay showed {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} for the same two but held a better kicker. She raked in the pot and has more than doubled her starting stack early before the midway point of the day.

The Flow Show

Niveau 3 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Jeff Gross
Jeff Gross

The board read {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades} when we arrived at the table and there was a large pot brewing between Jeff Gross and David Guay. The pot had around 600,000 in the middle already and David Guay pushed in a bet of 600,000 out of the big blind.

The action was on Jeff Gross in the cutoff who only had 579,000 remaining. He had a decision to make for his tournament life and it wasn't one he was willing to make quickly. Gross looked back at his cards multiple times and played with his chips for a couple of minutes before he started talking to himself.

"There is only one re-entry per day, right?" he asked the dealer who nodded. "I don't want to disappoint Darren (Elias), but I think I might have to," Gross said as slid his chips in the middle to make the call.

Guay turned over {9-Spades}{8-Spades} for a straight draw and Gross tabled {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}. Guay was left drawing to one of four sixes, and the {2-Hearts} on the river was not one of them. Gross earned himself a double up and Guay slid below 300,000 chips.

Lefrancios Rivers a Consolation Prize

Niveau 3 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

On a flop of {9-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} with around 100,000 already in the middle, Pascal Lefrancois checked from the big blind. His opponent, in early position, slid in a bet of 35,000 and Lefrancois check-raised to 130,000. His opponent made the call and the {q-Clubs} landed on the turn.

Lefrancois tanked for well over a minute before tossing in a bet of 250,000. His opponent stuck around to see the {j-Spades} on the river. Lefrancois checked this time and his opponent knuckled the table behind him. Lefrancois turned over {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for a missed flush draw but hit a pair of jacks on the river. That proved to be good enough to earn him the pot as he quickly chipped up after just taking a seat.

The field number of entries has increased to 139 now with 122 players remaining. Some notable to recently take their seats include Jeff Gross, Chris Moorman, and Peter Jetten.

Calvet Avoids an Ace to Double Through Kuo

Niveau 2 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

There was a raise to 25,000 from under the gun and Bernat Calvet three-bet to 100,000 directly to his left. Kitty Kuo put in a four-bet to 225,000 and the action folded back to Calvet. He five-bet jammed all in for 655,000 and Kuo quickly made the call.

Bernat Calvet: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Kitty Kuo: {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Calvet would need to dodge an ace in order to double up and stay alive. The board ran out {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Calvet's pocket kings held up, leaving Kuo with around 300,000 chips.
