Allen Bodyk
Allen Bodyk

After just a few hands on the bubble, Allen Bodyk moved all in and was called by Cory Smith to put him at risk.

Allen Bodyk: AK
Cory Smith: 44

Unfortunately for Bodyk, the runout of J26Q8 did not provide for him and he was eliminated on the stone bubble of the Main Event's opening flight.

With his elimination, the remaining 22 players have begun the bagging process and will return on Sunday for Day 2.

A full recap of the day's events and chip counts will be released shortly, so stay tuned!

Davis Doubles Smith; Falls to Bogard

Niveau 13 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

After losing a monster pot to Cory Smith in a Queens versus Kings, all-in preflop situation, Mark Davis moved all in blind for his last 30,000 and was called by Bart Bogard to put him at risk.

Mark Davis: 45
Bart Bogard: A8

The runout of J9910A gave Bogard the win with his ace and Davis, who was at the top of the chip counts for most of the day, was sent to the exit, vowing to return tomorrow.

Stanford Sent Out

Niveau 13 : Blinds 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Cody Stanford was spotted exiting the tournament area and was asked what happened...

"Well I shoved 14 bigs with ace-seven and the guy called with nines and held, what can you do."

Stanford, who won a RGPS Main Event here back in 2020, is no quitter and will be back in full force for tomorrow's flights.

Let 'Em Know in Cleveland!

Niveau 12 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Brian Winter moved all in preflop and got defending champ Loi Hoang to fold, but then Chad Hall made the call right behind to put him at risk.

"Ahh, I need some help," the current RunGood player-of-the-year frontrunner sighed as he flipped over his cards.

Brian Winter: 810
Chad Hall: AK

Indeed, Winter would need some help to stay alive, but the runout of JK46A failed to do so and he was sent to the rail while Hall raked in the pot.

"Let 'em know in Cleveland!" Winter told PokerNews on his way out, referring to the concurrent RunGood stop, where a certain POY contender is moving up the ranks.

McEwen Shown the Nuts

Niveau 12 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

On a heads-up turn of 4578, Preston McEwen checked to Hyun Lee who bet 22,000. McEwen made the call to see the 9 fall on the river and he decided to lead out for 43,000.

Lee paused for a second and then announced he was all-in, covering McEwen who went into the tank.

After several moments, McEwen decided to make the call but was then shown A2 by Lee for the backdoor stone-cold nuts while he showed 79 for a rivered two-pair.

The pot was then shipped to Lee while McEwen exited the tournament area, vowing to return tomorrow.
