Joe Cada
Joe Cada

WSOP bracelet winner Joe Cada and Julien Loire squared off in a big pot.

Loire raised to 800,000 in early position, and then Cada, who was on the button, three-bet to 1,950,000.

Loire covered Cada and went in the tank, peeking over at the 2009 WSOP Main Event champion, who was motionless. After up to close to a minute, Loire moved all in.

Cada, who had 7,550,000 behind, snap called to put his tournament life at stake.

Joe Cada: AA
Julien Loire: KQ

The dealer fanned 739 on the flop, leaving Cada ahead. The 8 appeared on the turn, followed by 9 on the river, giving Cada a double-up.

Silver Applies Pressure

Niveau 33 : Blinds 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

On a heads-up flop of 272, Nate Silver led out for 800,000 into the pot of 1,150,000 and his opponent, Jaered Besse, made the call.

The turn came the 3 and Silver fired again, this time for a healthy 1,975,000, and it seemed to do the trick as Besse quickly tossed his cards into the muck.

Big Double for Frank

Niveau 33 : 200,000/400,000, 400,000 ante

Short-stacked Ashley Frank moved all in preflop for 2,100,000 and was called by Arash Ghaneian while the rest of the table got out of the way.

Ashley Frank: KK
Arash Ghaneian: AQ

"Oh wow, pocket kings?? That's good," Ghaneian said as the cards were tabled.

The board on the turn 1010810 gave Frank a full house but she still had to fade an ace or the remaining ten. Luckily for her, the river was the 3 and she was awarded the pot for a big double-up.

Exterkotter Takes It Down

Niveau 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Marcos Exterkotter raised 600,000 in early position, and received calls from Ian Schechter, who was in late position, and the player in the big blind.

With three players to the flop, the dealer fanned 78A. The player in the big blind checked, leading to Exterkotter betting 700,000. Schechter called, while the big blind folded.

The turn showed 5, which Exterkotter checked. Schechter then bet 1,500,000, which Exterkotter called.

The Q appeared on the river, which both players checked. Exterkotter showed A10.

“It’s good,” Schecter said as he mucked his cards.

Miracle River for Rockowitz; Franco Exits

Niveau 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Short-stacked Jesse Rockowitz moved all in preflop for 2,100,000 and was called by Ian Schechter to his left, but then Thiago Franco shoved for a few million more, and big stack Jaered Besse ripped in his stack as well.

The other players, including Schechter, quickly got out of the way and the three players tabled their cards, with Besse covering.

Jesse Rockowitz: 88
Thiago Franco: 1010
Jaered Besse: AA

Besse was in a prime position to score a double knockout and the flop of 627 was a good start.

"Oooh, so close," Rockowitz commented at the low flop.

The turn brought in the Q and all the players frantically looked around to see if anyone held a spade, but none did.

The river brought in the miracle 8 and Rockowitz simply couldn't believe it as he hit the two-outer to make a set of eights and scored a huge triple-up.

Meanwhile, Franco's tens could not hold up to Besse's aces and he was eliminated while Besse took the substantial side pot.

"Wow, imagine if I had shoved preflop instead of just calling," Schechter was shaking his head, as he had flashed AQ preflop before he made the fold.

"Yeah! Thanks for that!" Rockowitz replied emphatically as he stacked his new chips.

Niveau 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante

Nate Silver raised in late position, and then George Chen moved all in at the cutoff for his remaining 1,900,000.

Brett Murray, who in the small blind, called, as did Silver.

The flop came J42, which Murray checked. Silver, though, bet 1,500,000, and Murray called.

The 2 showed up on the turn, leading to checks from Murray and Silver. The river produced the 9, prompting Murray to lead out with 2,500,000. Silver immediately mucked his hand and the cards were tabled.

George Chen: A7
Brett Murray: AA

Chen, who already had his belongings packed on the flop, tapped the table and wished his tablemates well before he exited the area.

Snyder Takes Early Lead

Niveau 32 : Blinds 150,000/300,000, 300,000 ante
Steven Snyder
Steven Snyder

The action was caught as Steven Snyder made it 1,800,000 preflop from the button and was called by Matthew Volosevich from the cutoff.

The two players went heads up to a flop of 85Q and Snyder continued for 1,300,000 after a check from Volosevich.

Volosevich made the call to see the 9 on the turn, which both players decided to check through to the J on the river.

Volosevich checked once more, which prompted Snyder to set out a stack of 4,300,000, which sent Volosevich into the tank.

After about 30 seconds of thought, Volosevich slowly slid his cards into the middle and awarded the large pot to Snyder, which received a few cheers from his rail.
