With 3,000 in the middle, the flop was 8♣4♥2♥, and Lily Kiletto check-raised her opponent's bet of 1,100 to 2,800. Her raise was quickly called.
The 2♣ fell on the turn and Kiletto continued with a bet of 3,000, which was looked up once again.
The 9♣ landed on the river and Kiletto announced a bet of 8,000, but as she reached to toss in the bet her opponent already mucked, flashing 6x5x for a missed double gutshot straight draw.
Alexandre Reard raised to 1,400 in the cutoff and Vanessa Kade three-bet to 4,500 on the button. The blinds quickly folded and Reard made the call.
The dealer spread a flop of J♦3♦2♠ and Reard check-called a bet of 3,200 from Kade.
The 6♣ hit the turn and Reard check-called once again, this time Kade fired 10,000.
The 9♣ landed on the river and both players quickly knuckled the table and Reard tabled K♥J♥ which was good enough to take down the pot as Kade showed the K♣.
Action folded to Marty Mathis in middle position who opened to 1,300. There was a player on the button who called, Martin Zumani called from the small blind, and the big blind defended. The players were off to a flop four ways.
The K♦9♣8♠ flop hit the felt and the blinds checked it over to Mathis who put out a continuation bet of 1,500. All the players called.
The 7♦ turn checked to Mathis who then slowed down and checked. The player on the button wasted almost no time before making a wager to the tune of 6,700. Zumani folded quickly from the blinds. The big blind made the call and action was back on Mathis.
Mathis thought over his options but eventually looked up at the dealer and announced "forty thousand" and put out enough chips for the check raise.
The button thought it over for a moment but sent his cards to the muck. With action back on the big blind, he clearly had a tough decision on his hands. He went into the tank for almost five minutes before eventually flicking in the call.
The cards hit their back with a river yet to come.

Marty Mathis: 10♥J♥
Mathis was holding the stone cold nuts with one card to come but the big blind had chop outs. No such luck as the river landed the 8♣ sending the big blind to the rail and giving Mathis a massive pot to take into the middling levels of play.
Phil Galfond has yet to make an appearance at the 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP), and as he told PokerNews, right now he has no plans to play live.
“But who knows, plans change,” added Galfond, who has been playing online at WSOP.com.
While Galfond hasn’t been at the WSOP – well, at least Phil as his wife, Farah Galfond, has been competing – the three-time bracelet winner is still weighing in by his relatively new newsletter “PG’s Takes of the Week.”
One of the topics the online poker legend, who prior to the WSOP inserted himself in some drama involving Doug Polk and Charlie Carrel with a pointed letter, was that of the Poker Hall of Fame. Right now, the public is being solicited for nomination.
“The nominations for the Poker Hall of Fame are now open, presenting voters with a familiar dilemma: there are simply too many great options to choose from,” Galfond wrote before giving his picks.
