It's the big day at the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel! In just a few hours, one player will be crowned as the winner of the 2023 Unibet Open Bucharest Main Event, and win the €65,830 first-place prize. But there is still a long way to go, as nine players out of 360 entrants are still in the competition.
Among the finalists, Eduard Norel will start the final table in first place as he bagged the chip lead after Day 2 with 1,970,000 chips, almost 80 big blinds. He is closely followed by Max Broens (1,760,000), and by Romania's Dragos Anton (1,725,000). Dwayne Sluis (1,425,000) and Day 1 overall chip leader Robert Burlacu (1,260,000) will also be back with more than one million chips.
In the second half of the chip counts, Ivan Alin Constantin will start the final table with more than 30 blinds (920,000). Same situation for Sorin Flutur (855,000). But it will be a bit more complicated for Bjorn Samuelsson (470,000) and Bart Van Dijk (310,000), who'll both be back with less than 20 blinds.

On the first hand of the final table, Robert Burlacu opened to 55,000 from the cutoff, and Dwayne Sluis defended from the big blind.
The dealer fanned a flop of 9♦3♣3♥. Burlacu continued with a bet of 30,000, but Sluis raised to 100,000.
Burlacu took his time, but after a few seconds, he eventually folded A♣8♥. Sluis had 8♦7♦.

Dragos Anton raised to 65,000 from early position, and he was only called by the chip lead, Eduard Norel, from the big blind.
Anton bet 75,000 on a board of Q♦A♦K♠ and Norel check-called. Then after Norel checked again the turn 3♠, Anton fired a big second barrel of 250,000.
Norel check-called once again to find 10♠ on the river. But this time, Norel lead out with a bet of 350,000. Anton threw a chip in front of him to call with J♠J♥ for a straight. But Norel hit the nut flush on the river with A♠9♠ to win this pot.

Ivan Alin Constantin opened to 55,000 from the button, but Dwayne Sluis three-bet to 150,000 from the small blind. Max Broens in the big blind folded, then Constantin shoved for 800,000. Sluis looked at him, and quickly called with a bigger stack.
Ivan Alin Constantin: Q♠Q♣
Dwayne Sluis: K♦K♣
Constantin was standing up and ready to leave after the board 5♦2♦8♦ and the turn 10♥ were revealed. But the Q♥ landed on the river to give him a set and make him double up.

Dragos Anton was in early position when he opened to 50,000. He was called by Max Broens on the button, while the blinds folded.
The J♦9♣7♣ flop was checked by Anton, so Broens took this opportunity to bet 50,000. Anton quickly called, then faced a second barrel of 100,000 on the turn 6♦.
Anton called again. But on the river 8♦, he bet 245,000. Broens called with A♠J♠ for top pair, but Anton hit a straight on the river with A♣10♣.
