US Poker Open Trophy
US Poker Open Trophy

Welcome to the fourth day of the U.S Poker Open at the PokerGO Studio just outside of the ARIA Resort & Casino. Event #4: $10,000 Short Deck is on the agenda today and will be the first time that this variation of poker is played at the USPO.

The fast-paced, high action style game will be sure to attract some of the best and biggest gamblers in the world, who will all be gunning to take down the first Short Deck event in USPO history.

All players looking to take down the championship of this year will have to catch up to the likes of Stephen Chidwick and Sean Winter. Both are currently set to battle it out as the top two chip stacks in the finale table of Event #3: $10,000. This is Winter's third final, having made the final day on all events thus far. Chidwick is appearing at his second, but unlike Winter, has taken down an event already in this series.

Bicknell Whacks Foxen for a Big One

Niveau 1

Anthony Zinno limped in the from the hijack before Kristen Bicknell raised to 13,000 in the cutoff. Alex Foxen called in the small blind and Zinno folded, so Bicknell and Foxen were heads up.

The flop was {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Spades} and both players checked to see the {8-Diamonds} on the turn. There, Foxen checked and Bicknell checked behind.

The river was the {Q-Diamonds} and Foxen led for 22,000. Bicknell thought about it for a bit, then raised, making it 60,000. Foxen took his turn in the tank but eventually called. Bicknell turned up her {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts} for the nut straight.

"That's good," Foxen said taking one last look at his cards.

Bicknell raked in the pot and Foxen was left with just 26,000 chips.

Loeser Toasts Lambs First Bullet

Niveau 1

It's unclear when all the money got in but Ben Lamb was holding {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} against Manig Loeser's {Q-Spades}{J-Spades}. Lamb was all in with a short stack and Loeser had him covered.

The board showed {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{J-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Loeser made a full house to force Lamb to use his first add on. With that, Loeser now sits with 140,000 while Lamb is sitting with 100,000 after his add-on.

Lamb Doubles Through Davies

Niveau 2

There was 7,000 in the pot on a flop of {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} when Jonathan Depa led out for 7,000 from the small blind. Seth Davies called form the cutoff before Ben Lamb popped it on the button to 24,000. Depa let go but Davies called.

The turn was the {K-Hearts} and Davies led out with a bet of 15,000. Lamb thought for a long while before moving all in for 61,000 and Davies quickly called.

Seth Davies: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Ben Lamb: {Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

The board completed with the {7-Clubs} and Davies missed full house and flush draws so Lamb would double. Davies was left with just 1,000 chips after the hand.

Lamb Scoops a Pot, Davies Uses Add-On Chip

Niveau 2

The board was showing {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} and Seth Davies was all in for the rest of his chips before the flop, Ben Lamb bet an opponent off the side pot and the two turned over their hands.

Davies tabled {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a pair of jacks, Lamb showed {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for the same pair but with a higher kicker. The {7-Diamonds} on the turn gave Davies two pair and the lead. A {10-Hearts} fell on the river, giving the lead back to lamb with a straight, busting Davies who then used an add on chip.
