New Jersey's Ryan Torgersen Discusses Incredible Bracelet Redemption

Niveau 27 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante
Ryan Torgersen
Ryan Torgersen

Over the course of two days on July 9th and 10th, the poker world witnessed New Jersey’s Ryan “im.sorry” Torgersen accomplish a truly incredible feat. First, he navigated his way through a 1,026-entry field in Event #9: $1,000 NLH 6-Max only to finish runner-up to Ron “MacDaddy15” McMillen, good for $116,379 prize money.

A day later in Event #10: $600 Monster Stack, Torgersen was back at it and topped a 2,074-entry field to win that tournament for $172,362 and a gold bracelet. In a 24-hour period, he won a $288,741 in prize money. He didn't stop there as he also finished in third place in Event #23: $500 NLH Knockout for $41,243.

Little was known about poker’s latest breakout star, who was awarded Performance of the Week right here on PokerNews. Fortunately, he found time in between his online grind to chat with PokerNews.

Whittington Eliminated After Running Into Harder's Aces

Niveau 27 : 6,000/12,000, 1,500 ante
Blake Whittington
Blake Whittington

Blake "shampainpopn" Whittington raised to 99,999 from early position leaving himself just 11,007 behind and Christian "0V0X0" Harder called from middle position to see a {5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{3-Spades} flop appear.

Whittington checked to Harder who fired out 12,000 and Whittington called off his stack.

Christian "0V0X0" Harder: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}
Blake "shampainpopn" Whittington: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Whittington needed running cards but the {10-Diamonds} turn was no help as it left him drawing dead to the {3-Hearts} river.

Ladies Good for Eriquezzo

Ryan Eriquezzo
Ryan Eriquezzo

Ryan "GoFeltaFish" Eriquezzo raised to 40,000 on from the button and then called "4BBluff's" 166,643 three-bet jam from the big blind.

"4BBluff": {k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}
Ryan "GoFeltaFish" Eriquezzo: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{10-Spades} flop paired "4BBluff" but they were still trailing Eriquezzo's ladies and neither the {7-Diamonds} turn nor the {5-Clubs} river were any help to "4BBluff" ending their tournament.

For players either in Nevada or New Jersey (remember, you must be 21+ to participate), or those planning to travel in, PokerNews put together all the information you need to know and also answered some lingering questions, which you can read here.

Download WSOP.com

The first step in getting set up to play on WSOP.com is to download the client. You can do so for both mobile (Android and iOS) and desktop (Windows 7 or higher and Mac OS X 10.6.8).

Also, the WSOP.com client can only support playing one table at a time on mobile.
