Traut Tables Nut Flush; Floor Rules Opponent Raised
Kenneth Traut got to the river on a board of in a heads-up pot. Traut bet 20,000 and, according to the dealer, his opponent put out three pink 5,000 chips and one green 25,000 chip for a total of 40,000 and announced "call" as he dropped the chips.
Believing the opponent had raised, Traut called and tabled for the nut flush. The opponent, who had additional pink chips in his stack, argued that he had only called.
The dealer called the floor over and, after some deliberation, the floor ruled that the opponent had raised since the chips left his hand before he said "call."
The opponent did not table his hand but was forced to surrender to 40,000.
