The pocket aces of Brodeur were exposed for a short while but they had been cracked by Ahuja's K♥9♣ on a board of 9♠9♦3♥6♣5♣ when the Indian poker pro flopped trips nines.

Also no longer in contention are Romel Mendoza, Ross Ward, and Ian O'Hara.

Picking up the action on the Q♥10♦6♣8♥ turn, Byung Eun Shin from under the gun and Qiang Xu in late position both invested 275,000 in chips. Shin then checked the Q♦ river and Xu bet only 125,000.

"I want to believe you, but you make it very hard," Shin grinned and several players at the table chuckled including his opponent.

"It feels like eights," ... Shin continued. Half a minute later, he folded and Xu revealed the A♥7♠ for a bluff.

Gheba Gets a Shove Through

Three ways to the A♦10♥3♣9♦ turn, Daniyal Gheba checked and Christopher Maguire bet 90,000. Stephen Song called on the button only for Gheba to check-shove for 355,000. Maguire quickly folded while Song asked for an exact count and sigh-folded.

The table no longer features Blaz Zerjav, who had been eliminated a few minutes ago.

Hasson and Song "Show Bluffs"

On a three-way turn of Q♦J♠8♠Q♥, Ori Hasson checked out of the small blind and Stephen Sakai bet 85,000 out of the big blind. Valentino Konakchiev called from an early position and Hasson then check-raised to 250,000. Sakai snap-folded and Konakchiev did so reluctantly.

"Good bluff," Hasson stated and flashed his 9♦9♥.

One table over, Stephen Song bet all but one last T-5,000 chip on the 6♣5♣3♥7♣A♠ river. It was a pot-sized effort for 465,000 and Niall Farrell sigh-folded. "Show the bluff," another player at the table demanded and added "you know you want to show it". Song obliged and flashed the 10♥ only.

"I had two pair," Farrell replied when asked what he had.

First, PokerNews walked up just after he knocked out Ari Shin, and then caught the second set of fireworks against Samy Boujmala, who moved all in after Shin raised in late position.

It proved the classic poker race, and Shin surged ahead when the dealer placed K♣2♦2♥ on the flop. Boujmala stood up at this point to watch J♦ hit the turn and 5♦ on the river to end his tournament.

Jorge Ufano had been nursing a short stack for a while and the clock had been called on him on numerous occasions. The same happened again before he then raised to 130,000 with very few chips behind. Andres Korn moved all-in out of the big blind and Ufano called it off.

Swan Chips Up Further; Jaffee Slips Down the Pecking Order

Jared Jaffee had been one of the chip leaders for a while but he has since dropped into the middle of the pack with just under one million in chips. The latest hand saw Jaffee open raise to 60,000 and he then folded to a shove by Ruben Costa for 430,000.

Over on table 661, three-way action led to the A♠3♥2♦ flop and it checked to Feng Qu in the hijack who bet 60,000. Daniyal Gheba called in the cutoff and Adam Swan in the big blind then check-raised to 175,000. Qu folded after brief consideration and Gheba needed longer to come to the same conclusion.

Ben Keeline was down to around nine blinds when he three-bet jammed with his short stack and pocket nines. The initial raiser Stephen Sakai called and tabled the slightly inferior pocket pair in 8♠8♣.

However, the current chip leader instantly spiked a set on the 8♥4♦3♠ flop to take the lead. Nothing changed anymore with the 5♥ turn and Q♣ river to reduce the field by one.

Song Eliminates Maguire

Christopher Maguire hung in as long as he could with a short stack, and then picked his spot to move all in for his remaining less than 100,000 chips.

Action folded to WSOP bracelet winner Stephen Song, who was in late position and called. The cards were tabled after the blinds folded.

The table laughed when they saw the hands, and even Maguire let out a chuckle. The mood, however, changed when the dealer fanned 10♠Q♠K♠ on the flop, giving Song the nut flush. The 5♣ on the turn and 4♦ on the turn were a formality, as Maguire was sent to the rail shortly before the dinner break.
