Landon Tice bet 35,000 on a board of 3♥9♣4♣Q♦ and Stephen Chidwick called in the big blind.
The river came the 6♣ and Chidwick checked once more. Tice now checked behind and took down the pot with 9♠3♠ for two pair.
At the same time on another table, Reiji Kono was knocking out Henri Puustinen when he made two pair with Q♥4♥ on a board of Q♣10♥5♦A♠4♥.
Kono, who is being followed by a contingent of Japanese media who are filming his every move, stopped to take a picture of the board before racking up his chips for the next round.

Roberto Perez opened to 6,000 on the button and Daniel Negreanu made it 21,000 in the big blind. Perez called and the dealer fanned the flop of 9♠7♥2♦.
Negreanu led out with a bet of 21,000 and Perez announced a raise to 58,000. Negreanu instantly mucked his cards and Perez took a two-to-one chip lead in the match.
Nearby, Julien Martini called off the last of his 38,000 chips on the river but it was Joshua Heinzl who turned over the best hand in order to advance to Round 3.

Gabor Szabo opened the button to 4,000 to be met by a three-bet to 17,500 from Conor Beresford. Szabo called and they went to a flop.
As the board ran out J♥3♣7♦A♥4♥ Beresford barrelled all three streets for 17,500, 50,000, and 60,000 respectively. Each was called by Szabo until the river bet to which he reraised all in for his remaining 200,000. This sent Beresford deep into the tank as he burnt through several time banks before making his decision. Beresford called and Szabo was first to reveal his hand, K♥10♥ for the stone-cold nuts. Beresford conceding the pot showed A♠K♠ for a no-good top pair.
Left with a mere 22,000 behind, Beresford was eliminated a short while later.

John Smith limped in on the button and Chris Brewer raised to 15,000 out of the big blind. Smith nearly folded but then opted to see a flop which came J♠J♥5♠. Brewer led out with a bet of 10,000 and Smith just called to see the 7♣ on the turn.
Brewer fired out another bet of 40,000 on the turn and Smith called. The river was the 4♦ and Brewer splashed in a bet of 130,000. Smith shoved all in for 176,600 which got Brewer out of his seat as he showed his cards J♣8♣.
"You just have eight-six of spades or some funny jack that made a full house. How much more is it? I don't think I can fold," Brewer rambled on as the stack was counted. Brewer got the final count and made the call only to see Smith turn over J♦7♦ for a full house to double into the lead.

Thomas Eychenne bet 22,000 on a board of 8♠5♣2♦7♠ before Doug Polk moved all in.
Eychenne, with 120,000 remaining, tanked for a moment before folding. Polk showed him 10♦9♣ for a straight draw as he took the pot and Eychenne lowered his head onto the table.
"When you get shorter, position is less good," Polk said.

Daniel Negreanu raised on the button to 6,000 called by Roberto Perez in the big blind.
The flop came A♣A♥4♣. Perez check-called a bet of 3,000 and the players went to the turn.
The J♠ followed and the same story, but this time Negreanu bet 9,000 called by Perez.
The river came the 5♠ and Perez checked for the last time. Negreanu thought before following suit and checked behind - wisely so as Perez tabled A♠8♠ for flopped trips.

Roberto Perez raised to 6,000 before Daniel Negreanu moved all in for 52,000. Perez called and Negreanu took out his camera and began filming before exposing his cards.
Daniel Negreanu: 8♠8♥
Roberto Perez: K♦J♠
"My friend's been killing me," Negreanu narrated as the dealer turned over the 8♦Q♥10♦ flop, giving him a set and Perez an open-ended straight draw.
The 3♠ turn was safe, and the 4♦ on the river was enough for Negreanu to double up.
