Furth Leads Big; Koral Seeks Third Bracelet on Day 3 of $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

Tom Koral

A starting field of 1,277 entries has been reduced to just 14 here on Day 3 of Event #15: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better inside the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas. They will be competing for a coveted World Series of Poker bracelet along with the $265,361 first-place prize out of the total prize pool of $1,704,795.

Caleb Furth bagged far and away the lead last night with 7,450,000 in chips. That number represents nearly double of his next closest competitor, Andrew Paterson, who bagged up 3,980,000. Walter Chambers rounds out the top three after ending with a respectable 3,870,000.

Furth will be chasing his first WSOP bracelet, but already has several notable finishes in various poker series, including a win last November in a $5,300 Pot Limit Omaha event at the North America Poker Tour. A victory today would be Furth’s biggest live tournament cash to date.

Also in the hunt is two-time bracelet winner Tom Koral, who enters Day 3 seventh in chips with 1,640,000. Koral will be looking to improve upon his 18th place finish in the $10,000 Omaha 8 or Better Championship just a few days ago and add to his nearly $3 million in live tournament earnings.

Other notables still in include Andreas Frohli (2,815,000), Mike Holtz (1,420,000), Christian Harder (1,090,000) and Jason Daly (360,000).
