Leah's Eight No Good

Niveau 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Four players went to the last draw with 3,000 in the pot, and two of them drew while two patted, including Mike Leah on the button. Everyone checked to Leah and he checked. He rolled over an {8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}, but it was no good against the other pat player, who had {8-}{7-}{5-}{3-}{2-}.

The Wright Stuff Early

Niveau 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Larry Wright has almost two starting stacks already, so he's certainly the envy of most of the players in the room at this point.

In one recent pot, the Texan raised from the small blind and saw the big blind defend. Wright took one and his opponent three, but Wright's second bet prompted his opponent to raise. Wright called and took one while his opponent was pat. Wright then check-called a bet and drew one last time.

Both players checked for the showdown and Wright's {8-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{3-} was good.

Taylor Tries the Trap

Niveau 2 : 150/300, 0 ante

Esther Taylor bet from the big blind and an opponent in the cutoff called. Taylor patted and her opponent took a card, crossing his fingers that he was going to get there this time. Taylor checked and her opponent shook his head and checked back. Taylor rolled over a wheel though, showing there wasn't a card in the deck that would have gotten her opponent the pot.

Players are now on break for 15 minutes.

Greenstein Survives Against Three

Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

Four players went to the first draw at Table 110, with the small blind taking one, Barry Greenstein two, the cutoff one, and Benny Glaser one. Greenstein, though, came out betting, and everyone called. On the next draw, everyone took one except Greenstein who was pat. Greenstein put in his last 250, was called twice, and then the small blind woke up with a check-raise. Both the cutoff and Glaser called.

On the last draw, everyone was pat but Glaser, who took a card. He bet when checked to, and he got two calls. His {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} was a winner for the side pot, but Greenstein took the main with {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-}.

Duhamel Chipping Up

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 0 ante

Chris Bjorin raised from under the gun, the player in the hijack three-bet, Jonathan Duhamel four-bet from the cutoff, Bjorin called, and the hijack called.

Bjorin and the player in the hijack drew two to Duhamel's one, and check-called a bet from the 2010 Main Event champion.

Bjorin drew two again, the player in the hijack drew one, Duhamel stood pat, and the betting action remained the same.

Bjorin drew one on the final draw while the hijack and Duhamel each stood pat. Action checked to Duhamel and he bet for a third time. Bjorin check-folded, the hijack check-called, and Duhamel fanned {8-}{7-}{6-}{5-}{2-}. The hijack mucked, giving Duhamel the pot.
