Three in a Row for Tran

Niveau 29 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Duc Tuan Tran raised to 160,000 and earned calls from Theodoor Woolschot in the next seat as well as Maurice Nass in the big blind. The A106 flop was checked to Tran, who bet 200,000 and won the pot. Tran flashed his AQ before raking in the pot.

Tran then raised to 160,000 from under the gun, finding no resistance.

Traian Stanciu limped the small blind the hand thereafter and Tran grinned "no fold?" from the other side of the dealer. Stanciu shook his head but quickly folded when Tran raised to 340,000.

Duc Tuan Tran opened to 160,000 on the button before Theodoor Woolschot moved all in for 2,000,000 from the small blind. Tran took some time considering his decision, making the call and turning over his hand.

Theodoor Woolschot: 88
Duc Tuan Tran: JJ

Tran cheered as he saw his jacks in the lead, cheering once more when a set appeared in the window of the J2K flop. The 69 runout ended Woolschot's run with a seventh-place finish for €7,550.

Tilica Left With Little

Niveau 29 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Maurice Nass ripped in his stack of 940,000 from the hijack and Bogdan Tilica rejammed from the small blind with a slightly larger stack. The big blind folded and the cards went on their backs.

Maurice Nass: AK
Bogdan Tilica: AQ

Neither player paired their hole cards on the 410757 board, resulting in Nass' ace-king kicker doubling him up.

Tilica, meanwhile, was left with just two big blinds as the level went up the next hand.

Tran Still With a Commanding Lead

Niveau 30 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Before the blinds had gone up, Duc Tuan Tran min-raised and Anthony Mahaut called in the blinds. Mahaut checked and folded the KJ2 flop when Tran bet 140,000.

Mahaut then complained that he could not see the entire stack of the chip leader, after which Tran re-organised his chips accordingly.

Mahaut raised to 200,000 in the new level but folded when Maurice Nass jammed.

Nass was then involved in a limped pot where he bet the A75Q turn for 150,000 and the K river for 300,000. Traian Stanciu called and was good with the A4 for top pair, as Nass only briefly exposed his cards.

Bogdan Tilica
Bogdan Tilica

Bogdan Tilica was automatically all-in from the big blind with his last 100,000 chips. Maurice Nass then limped in from the cutoff before Duc Tuan Tran raised to 550,000 from the small blind. Nass quickly let his hand go and the other two players showed down.

Bogdan Tilica: J4
Duc Tuan Tran: AQ

Tran flopped Tilica dead on 5QQ, and he even filled up on the 7A runout to put some salt in the wound.

Tilica left the table in sixth place and was the first player to receive a five-figure payout.

Mahaut Takes From Tran

Niveau 30 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Anthony Mahaut opened to 200,000 from under the gun and Duc Tuan Tran defended his big blind to the 108A flop.

Both players checked to see the 7 turn, where Tran led out for 200,000. Mahaut called to the J river, where Tran checked.

Mahaut counted out a bet of 375,000, earning the pot as Tran folded.

Anthony Mahaut Eliminated in 5th Place (€13,600)

Niveau 30 : Blinds 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Anthony Mahaut
Anthony Mahaut

Traian Stanciu open-raised to 255,000 from the button before Anthony Mahaut jammed all in from the big blind for 2,525,000 chips. Stanciu immediately called with the covering stack and the cards were tabeled.

Anthony Mahaut: JJ
Traian Stanciu: AK

Stanciu's rail was screaming for an ace, but the K85 flop brought his other pair instead, shooting him into the lead.

It was then Stanciu's rail's turn to root for a jack, but their yells were less effective as the board bricked out with a 7 turn and a 2 river.

Losing the flip meant that Mahaut was eliminated in fifth place while Stanciu ended up in a solid second place on the leaderboard.

Duc Tuan Tran raised to 225,000 and instantly called the shove by Sefora Pop for what appeared to be ten blinds in total.

Sefora Pop: 55
Duc Tuan Tran: KK

Pop as the shortest stack had found a pair to get it in with only to run into yet another monster by the commanding chip leader. Tran had little to fear on the AA867 board and Pop was eliminated in fourth place for €18,600.
