Jake Cody S'adjuge une Nouvelle Victoire sur le SHRPO Championship
Seuls quelques joueurs de poker ont réussi à accomplir la Triple Couronne: remporter un titre majeur du World Series of Poker (WSOP), du World Poker Tour (WPT) et de l’European Poker Tour (EPT) et Jake Cody en fait partie. Le pro britannique a ajouté une nouvelle ligne prestigieuse à son palmarès cette semaine en s’imposant dans le $5,300 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO) au Hard Rock Hollywood, en Floride du Sud.
La série SHRPO comprenait plus de 60 tournois, avec des buy-ins allant de 200 $ à 25 500 $. Au total, plus de 14,3 millions de dollars de prize pool ont été générés.
Le tournoi à 5 300 $ a même donné lieu à un coup incroyable, lorsqu’un joueur a reçu trois cartes… sans s’en rendre compte avant la river.
Cody remporte son premier titre SHRPO
Cody, vainqueur du Main Event de l’EPT Deauville 2010 pour 1,2 million de dollars et du WPT Londres la même année, avant de s’imposer dans le Championnat Heads-Up à 25 000 $ des WSOP 2011 pour 851 192 $, a conclu un deal à trois joueurs avec Jeremy Wien (450 000 $) et Stephen Song, Joueur GPI de l’année 2022 toutes catégories et Mid-Major (438 000 $).
« C’est incroyable, obtenir le trophée, gagner le tournoi… même si vous touchez beaucoup d’argent, la victoire en elle-même procure une sensation unique, » a déclaré Cody au Seminole Hard Rock dans une interview de vainqueur. « Il n’y a rien qui aurait pu se passer autrement, je suis très heureux. »
La table finale comprenait également Andjelko Andrejevic (4e - 240 000 $), Jasper Ma (7e - 106 000 $) et Chris Hunichen (9e - 65 000 $), auteur d’une superbe série dont nous reparlerons plus bas.
Cette victoire constitue le troisième plus gros gain de Cody et lui permet de dépasser les 5 millions de dollars de gains sur Hendon Mob. En avril dernier, il avait déjà remporté un Deep Stack à 2 200 $ lors du WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown pour 93 900 $.
