Byrne Spikes the River to Double
Niveau 27
: Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Dean Lyall raised to 100,000 on the button, Martin Byrne moved all in for 745,000 in the big blind, and Lyall called.
Martin Byrne: 8♠8♣
Dean Lyall: A♦J♥
It was a coin flip for Byrne's tournament life, but he fell behind on the K♥J♠2♠ flop as Lyall hit a pair of jacks. The 7♠ turn gave Byrne some hope with a flush draw, and he spiked the flush on the A♠ river to double up.
