With 14,000 in the pot on a flop of J♣8♦10♦, Mario Zaccagnini bet 10,000 from middle position and Soufiane Saada called on the button. An early-position player then raised to 23,000 and Zaccagnini called for his last 20,200. Saada took a few minutes but also called to create a side pot.
Saada and his opponent checked down the Q♦ turn and 2♦ river. "Anyone have jack-nine of diamonds?" Zaccagnini asked as he showed A♦A♥ for the nut flush. Saada mucked Q♠6♠, while the middle-position player tossed 10♠10♣ for a beaten set into the muck.
Three-handed on a flop of 9♣4♣7♣, a player in the hijack bet 1,000 and Claudio Di Giacomo raised to 3,500 on the button. Francisco Togores then reraised to 12,000 in middle position and only the hijack called.
The turn was the A♥ and Togores moved all in. The hijack snap-called for 25,000 with A♣8♦ for top pair, but Togores had flopped a flush with 10♣8♣, leaving his opponent looking only for another club to make a higher flush.
The A♠ river instead gave him only no-good trips as Togores scored the knockout.
Last year in Madrid, it was a storybook finish for Spain’s Manuel Ledesma under the bright lights of the final table at his home poker room.
After starting the final day as the short stack with just 10 big blinds, the Madrid resident battled his way back at Casino Gran Via, staying alive several times before finishing the night holding the coveted €888 Main Event trophy and taking home €58,000. The win was a test of his endurance, after surviving the Day 1b turbo before bagging at the end of 11 more levels of play on Day 2.
Ledesma outlasted a field of 435 entries across four starting flights to take the largest portion of the €333,905 prize pool. The final first-place prize was decided after a heads-up deal with runner-up Juan Lyons, who earned €52,000 for his efforts.

Evgeny Fidchuk bet 3,400 from the small blind on a flop of 10♠3♣Q♦ and the button raised to 10,000. Fidchuk came back with a reraise to 22,000 and his opponent called.
The turn was the 5♥ and Fidchuk bet another 26,000. His opponent spent several minutes shuffling his chips in his hand before tossing his cards into the muck. Fidchuk flashed the 2♦ as he took the pot.
Jon San Juan had increased his stack back up to 18,000 after losing the all in to Gaspare Triolo earlier and moved all in again from early position. A player in the big blind called to put him at risk.
Jon San Juan: A♣A♠
Opponent: A♥Q♠
San Juan had picked up aces and was a big favorite to double up as the flop came J♥6♠4♥. The K♥ turn gave his opponent a straight draw, but San Juan held on through the 8♦ river to secure the pot and stay alive.
