A recent addition to the field is Australian bracelet-winner Heidi May. May took down last year's Event #70: $1,000 Ladies Championship to win $135,098 and earn a WSOP gold bracelet.
May is a 27-year-old professional poker player from Tasmania, Australia, who has been playing for a living for about four years now. She mostly plays higher stakes cash games and online tournaments, but has recently started to mix in live tournaments. May learned how to play when she was 18 years old in university, and previously worked as a support worker in age-care and disability.
Peter Dykes raised from under the gun and called a three-bet to 2,500 by Beshara "Billy" Sukkar to see a flop of . Sukkar continued for 6,000 and Dykes moved all in to see Sukkar call it off with the inferior stack.

Jake Schwartz raised to 500 and a three-bet to 1,600 followed before Najeem Ajez four-bet to 4,500 on the button, forcing folds all aroumd. Soon after Ajez and Schwartz were involved in a hand and checked through a turn. Schwartz bet the river for 800 and won the pot.
Despite this small boost to the stack, Schwartz is down for the day while Ajez is above the starting stack.
Benny Spindler has also grinded out a small profit already and won a nice pot with for top two to add to his stack.
On a flop of one player checked to Max Silver who bet 500. The button then raised to 2,100. The first player checked and Silver called.
The turn came and Silver check-folded to a bet of 3,500.
Meanwhile, on a river of and with a pot of only 5,000 Daniel Neilson bet 10,000, leaving himself around 5,000 behind. His opponent quickly folded and Neilson gratefully added the chips to his stack.
In a battle of the blinds, Marton Czuczor limped in and the player in the big blind raised, Czuczor called. The flop fell and Czuczor check-raised before betting again the turn, the big blind called. On the river, Czuczor bet 11,000 into a pot of 16,300 and his opponent reluctantly folded, showing the .
German Andreas Klatt enjoyed a successful 2017, winning a bracelet at the WSOP Europe, as well as winning the PokerStars National Championship and finishing second in the Main Event at PSC Monte Carlo. He has already cashed the Aussie Millions Opener and is now seated on Day 1a of the Main Event.
In this hand he was staring down an opponent who had just bet 5,100 into a pot of 8,500 on a river. Eventually Klatt let it go, and counted out his remaining stack of 28,000; just underneath starting stack.
On a board, Dara O'Kearney was facing a 1,000 bet and raised to 3,000. The call came after a minute and O'Kearney showed to rake in the pot and get back to the starting stack.
