Mitchell Runs Into A Set

Niveau 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

On a {K-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs} flop, Timothy Mitchell had 16,000 in front of him and Antonino Cascio had check-raised to 53,000. Mitchell thought for minutes before committing the rest of his chips, slightly more than Cascio's raise. Cascio quickly added the extra chips.

Timothy Mitchell: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}
Antonino Cascio: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Mitchell was in a world of hurt and the {2-Hearts} on the turn ended his attempt in the Main Event, rendering the {10-Spades} river moot.

Jesse Sylvia

Jesse Sylvia started the day as one of the shortest stacks in the room and wasn't able to run it up. In his final hand, the 2012 WSOP Main Event runner-up raised from under the gun and faced a three-bet from Duy Ho to his direct left. Sylvia four-bet shoved and got a direct call from Ho.

Jesse Sylvia: {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}
Duy Ho: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

There was no help in the cards for Sylvia on {3-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and he said his goodbyes. With the pot, Ho became the second player to cross the half million mark.

Marotta Doubles Through Grafton

Niveau 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Sam Grafton had a bet of 27,000 in front of him in early position on a completed board of {6-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}. Nino Marotta had shoved all in from the cutoff for 84,000.

"Whaddya got, buddy?" Grafton asked. "How do you know I don't have ace-king?"

He continued to think.

"I feel like I'm going to pay this off because it's not that much more."

Eventually, he did call and it was Marotta who had the ace-king: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}. Grafton mucked {k-}{k-}.

"Nice hand, sir."

Pezzaniti Firing; Reina Limp-Shoves

Niveau 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Paul Michaelis doubled up early on with kings to remain in contention while Giuseppe Reina was spotted limping in from late position. Julian Stuer in the cutoff raised to 7,000 and Hon Cheong Lee called on the button. Reina shoved for 50,000 and got through with it. "You have the same move for ten years" joked Nick Solomos.

Frank Pezzaniti came out firing right off the bat and was involved in a three-bet pot and bet the {Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs}{8-Hearts} turn for 35,000. His sole opponent John Parker folded and the table was shown the {A-Hearts}{Q-Hearts} for top pair by Pezzaniti.

Federico Butteroni's 2018 Main Event has come to a screeching halt after running pocket kings into the pocket aces of Tu Lan. The joyful Italian was still in good spirits, even after the {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Spades}{J-Clubs}{3-Clubs} board failed to provide any help.

His entire stack of 99,500 got forked over to Lan and Butteroni made his way to the exit.

Engel Gets it Back

Niveau 13 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

After an open to 5,600, Ari Engel picked up {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and made it 15,600 on the button in a hand that occurred on stream. Tristan Bain four-bet to 34,500 in the big blind with {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and Engel decided to see the flop.

Bain bet 22,000 when {k-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Hearts} hit and Engel called. Both checked the {4-Spades} and the river was a {4-Hearts}. Bain quickly checked again and Engel bet 23,000 after some thought. Bain tanked about 90 seconds and couldn't find a fold, paying Engel off and dropping below 20 big blinds.
