Valakos Nearly Triples Up, Eliminates Cowen
Niveau 9
: Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Tina Bajric raised to 20,000 as first to act, after which Robert Cowen three-bet to 70,000 in the hijack. Big blind Spyridon Valakos then four-bet to 238,000, which Bajric called.
Cowen called all-in for 170,000 total, after which Valakos shoved his remaining 96,000 in before he had seen the flop. It came K♣10♥5♥, and Bajric called off after some deliberation.
Robert Cowen: K♦Q♠8♠7♦
Spyridon Valakos: A♥A♠J♣4♥
Tina Bajric: Q♦8♦7♠5♦
Valakos locked up the pot on the 9♥ turn, improving his flush a little bit on the 7♥ river. He took in the enormous pot while Cowen, who was among the big stacks throughout the majority of the day, left empty-handed.
