Another Change of Plans

Niveau 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

After discussing the remaining structure of the event with the players, everyone agreed to keep the 60-minute levels until the end of level 32 before the duration then becomes 45 minutes each going forward. There will also be no dinner break either.

Pots for Engel and Cheong

Niveau 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Oleksii Khoroshenin raised to 85,000 from the cutoff and Olov Jansson three-bet to 230,000 from the button. Joseph Cheong four-bet to 445,000 out of the big blind. Khoroshenin quickly folded, but Jansson stuck around to see the {K-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop. Cheong bet small for what looked like 250,000 and Jansson folded.

Over on table two, there was already a juicy pot with the river showing {9-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Gregory Goldberg bet 275,000 and Ari Engel called. Goldberg flashed {7-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a busted straight and flush draw, while Engel scooped the pot with {3-Spades}{2-Clubs} for bottom two pair.

Joseph Cheong Doubles Through Christopher Frank

Niveau 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Joseph Cheong
Joseph Cheong

Christopher Frank raised from the cutoff to 90,000 and Joseph Cheong three-bet to 245,000. Frank then four-bet all in and Frank called.

Frank showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Cheong {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}. The board came {a-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}, and the ace on the flop was enough to send a seemingly frustrated Frank on a short walk away from the tournament floor.

He won another big pot soon after and is now one of the top chipstacks in the room.

Rafael Moraes and Joseph Serock Eliminated in 22nd and 21st Place (€38,410)

Niveau 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Joe Serock
Joe Serock

Rafael Moraes min-raised from under the gun and left himself with very few chips behind. Jean Ferreira reraised small and Joseph Serock then shoved from the button for around 600,000. Moraes called all in, and Ferreira did so in a heart beat.

Moraes: {A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Serock: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}
Ferreira: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}

The board ran out {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} and the pair of kings held to eliminate both Moraes and Serock, who took home €38,410 for their efforts.

Anthony Zinno raised to 120,000 from the hijack and Natasha Barbour then moved all in from the small blind. Zinno asked for a count and the shove was for 435,000. "I guess I should call," Zinno said and did so a few moments later.

Barbour: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

Jiri Horak Eliminated in 24th Place (€32,680)

Niveau 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Hand 1

Both Ilkin Amirov and Jiri Horak check a flop of {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{4-Hearts} before Horak bets 80,000 on the turn which was the {7-Hearts}. The river brought the {5-Spades} and Horak checked to Amirov who bet a hefty 280,000 and Horak snap-called. Amirov turned over {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts} and took down the pot.

Hand 2

With just 380,000 chips remaining, it folded to Jiri Horak in the small blind who moved all in. Ilkin Amirov checked his cards and snap-called turning over {k-Clubs}{k-Spades}.

"Wow," remarked Horak, turning over {k-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. The board ran out {q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and despite the {4-Hearts} bringing a flush draw for Horak, the river was the {q-Clubs} and he was eliminated.
