Huge Field Expected for EPT 13 Barcelona €10,300 High Roller

Mustapha Kanit - 2015 EPT Barcelona €10,300 High Roller Winner
Mustapha Kanit - 2015 EPT Barcelona €10,300 High Roller Winner

A huge field is expected for the EPT 13 Barcelona €10,300 High Roller which gets underway later today, with a field size predicted to topple the 479 entries this event achieved last year, which in itself was a record for an event of this kind. Play gets underway at 12.30 p.m. local time, with ten 60-minute levels planned for today.

This time last year, and off the back of taking down the EPT 11 Grand Final €50,000 Super High Roller for €936,500, Mustapha Kanit shot to the top of the Italian all-time money list by winning this event for €738,759. The Italian enjoyed similar success over the course of Season 12, coming fourth in the PCA $100,000 Super High Roller, winning the EPT Dublin €25,000 High Roller and finishing second in the EPT 12 Grand Final €100,000 Super High Roller. These three cashes combined make a total of nearly €2.5m in prize money, and Kanit will be looking to take down this event for the second year in a row.

*Denotes a deal was made.

Last year Kanit made a three-way deal with Kuljinder Sidhu and Nick Petrangelo, the latter of which has enjoyed some success in Barcelona so far this year! Petrangelo took down an earlier €10,300 event here in Barcelona for €413,000, and will definitely be in the mood for another deep run. Also looking for yet another deep run is German wunderkind Fedor Holz, who took down the €50,000 Super High Roller earlier this week for €1,300,300, a score which unbelievably is only the fifth highest cash of his career!

With players allowed a single re-entry, and entry open until the start of Day 2, the field will be packed full of some of the world's best poker players, so be sure to stay tuned to PokerNews for all the action!
