Choi Takes from Adams

Niveau 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Timothy Adams raised to 90,000 from middle position and Stanley Choi called out of the big blind. On the {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, Choi checked and Adams checked behind. After the {2-Clubs} turn, Choi bet 80,000 and Adams called before both players checked again the {2-Diamonds} river.

Choi turned over the {A-Hearts}{7-Spades} for aces and deuces, which was good enough to win the pot.

Gruissem Shoves On Dvoress

Niveau 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

In the previous hand, Manuchehr Khangah limped in for 40,000. Daniel Dvoress raised to 120,000 on the button. Khangah called, but check-folded to a 115,000 continuation-bet from Dvoress.

Khangah once again limped the next hand. Dvoress now raised to 120,000 from the cutoff. Philipp Gruissem moved in for 610,000 from the big blind, Khangah folded, and Dvoress went in the tank.

"I take a fold, I take a double up. I don't care," shrugged Gruissem.

Dvoress eventually opted to fold, sending the pot over to the German.

Diego Ventura Eliminated in 17th Place

Niveau 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The action folded around to Connor Drinan on the button and he carefully checked the stacks behind him, then moved all in. Diego Ventura in the small blind looked over to Stanley Choi in the big blind and then asked "you have how much?" Choi replied "around 600,000" and Ventura then called all in for around 11 big blinds, Choi folded.

Ventura: {A-Spades}{5-Spades}
Drinan: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The {J-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop immediately improved Drinan to a set, but Ventura still had some back door outs. The {2-Hearts} turn was one of them, giving the Peruvian a gutshot, but the {5-Hearts} river blanked and sent him to the rail in 17th place just shy of the money.

The remaining 16 players will now redraw for the last two tables.

Break Time

Niveau 16 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

The remaining 17 players are going on a 20-minute break. This is the players' last one of the day, and there will be two 60-minute levels left when they return.

Leo Yan Ho Cheng Eliminated in 18th Place

Niveau 16 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Leo Yan Ho Cheng

Action folded to Leo Yan Ho Cheng on the button and he made it 75,000 with 426,000 behind. Igor Kurganov folded his small blind and Timothy Adams in the big blind had the decision. He moved a big pile of 25,000-chips to the middle and Cheng was put to the test. Cheng tanked for a little bit before he called.

Leo Yan Ho Cheng: {K-Spades}{7-Spades}
Timothy Adams: {J-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop was about as good as they could come for Cheng. The {A-Spades} on the turn in conjunction with the {10-Hearts} on the river spelled doom for Cheng and he had made his exit in 18th place.

Sylvain Loosli Pressures Sam Greenwood

Niveau 16 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Sylvain Loosli

The flop was {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Sylvain Loosli checked. Then Manuchehr Khangah checked and action was on Sam Greenwood. Greenwood bet 75,000. Loosli then check-raised to 210,000. Khangah folded and Greenwood made the call.

The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Loosli moved all in for his remaining chips. Greenwood rubbed his face with his hands and looked from the dealer to the board, and then to Loosli.

"If you're ahead, you're really far ahead," said Greenwood.

After a couple more minutes of tanking, Manuchehr Khangah turned to Greenwood.

"If you take two more minutes, I'm going to go to the toilet," he said.

"If you wait ten minutes, you can go during the break!" retorted Greenwood.

Eventually Greenwood let the hand go, and Loosli boosted his stack up over 1,000,000.
