Tsoukernik Picks up Kings and Aces to Bust O'Dwyer and Double Ruzicka

Niveau 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

Hand 1

Leon Tsoukernik raised to 26,000 from the cutoff and Steve O'Dwyer moved all in for around 210,000 from the big blind, Tsoukernik quickly called.

Steve O'Dwyer: {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Leon Tsoukernik: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and the defending champion of this very event was eliminated. Tsoukernik shook hands with O'Dwyer and even apologized for busting him.

Hand 2

One hand later, Isaac Haxton was the single big blind and joked "just a single big blind, not even worth stealing." Tsoukernik limped in and Vojtech Ruzicka moved all in for exactly 150,000 from the button. Haxton folded and Tsoukernik quickly tossed in a single chip for the call.

Vojtech Ruzicka: {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Leon Tsoukernik: {A-Spades}{A-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Spades} and Ruzicka rivered a straight for the second time today to double up for his tournament life.

Triple for Leonard

Niveau 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Patrick Leonard
Patrick Leonard

Patrick Leonard jammed from early position for 86,000, and Isaac Haxton called him from the button. Bertrand Grospellier shoved in the big blind and Haxton looked truly pained before opting to preserve his last 205,000 or so.

Grospellier: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}
Leonard: {a-Spades}{5-Hearts}

Leonard needed a five and didn't find one on the {8-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop. The {5-Spades} turn brought him salvation though, and the {9-Hearts} river sent him the pot.

Tsoukernik Doubles Through Leonard

Niveau 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Steve O'Dwyer raised to 27,000 from early position and Leon Tsoukernik called on the button, Patrick Leonard filled up from the single big blind. On the flop of {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{3-Clubs}, Leonard checked and O'Dwyer bet 38,000. Tsoukernik called that bet with the words "you are a blackjack player, three eight, I play blackjack too."

Leonard then check-raised all in for 323,000 and O'Dwyer quickly folded. Tsoukernik and Leonard spent a few minutes with table talk before the clock was called on the former. Half a minute later, Tsoukernik called to put himself at risk for 225,000.

Leon Tsoukernik: {A-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Patrick Leonard: {10-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The {7-Clubs} on the turn made things even more spicy for Leonard with the added flush draw, but a blank {5-Diamonds} on the river changed nothing anymore and Tsoukernik doubled. Leonard was left with just over eight big blinds after the hand and has some serious work ahead.

Thorel Shows a Straight

Niveau 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Juha Helppi opened to 28,000 from the button and Jean-Noel Thorel called in the big blind. The flop came {A-Hearts}{J-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Thorel checked. Helppi continued for 20,000 and Thorel called before checking again the {3-Hearts} on the turn.

Helppi now fired a second barrel worth 56,000 before facing the check-min-raise by Thorel to 112,000. Helppi folded and Thorel flashed the {5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a straight with a bright smile on the face.

Ruzicka on Good and Bad Ends of Doubles

Niveau 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Vojtech Ruzicka shoved all in for 169,000 in middle position with {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and got action from Isaac Haxton and his {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}. The board ran out {q-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and the Czech player doubled up.

Moments later, Ruzicka opened for a raise and got action from big blind Patrick Leonard, who moved all in after a {6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop for 136,000, more than the size of the pot. Ruzicka instantly called with kings and saw he was fading a {j-Clubs}{9-Spades} held by Leonard. The {8-Diamonds} turn improved Leonard with a backdoor straight and the river was the {10-Hearts} to get him there.

Konstantin Uspenskiy Eliminated by Daniel Dvoress

Niveau 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Konstantin Uspenskiy
Konstantin Uspenskiy

Action folded to Konstantin Uspenskiy in the cutoff and he opened to 25,000 with 281,000 behind. Timothy Adams folded his button but small blind Daniel Dvoress had bigger plans and three-bet to 80,000. Mustapha Kanit folded his big blind, action was back on Konstantin Uspenskiy. He tanked for a bit before moving all in for 306,000. Dvoress called instantly.

Konstantin Uspenskiy: {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}
Daniel Dvoress: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The {7-Hearts}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs} gave Uspenskiy an extra out but he wouldn't hit it. The {9-Hearts} on the turn was effectively a blank and the {10-Spades} on the river wasn't one of the cards he was looking for either.

Mikita Badziakouski Eliminated by Jean-Noel Thorel

Niveau 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

Juha Helppi raised to 26,000 from the cutoff and Mikita Badziakouski moved all in for 112,000 from the small blind. Jean-Noel Thorel in the big blind also announced all in and Helppi folded his {A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} face up.

Mikita Badziakouski: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}

The flop of {J-Spades}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} improved Badziakouski to a set of tens, and the {J-Hearts} completed a full house for the Belarusian. The {Q-Hearts} then fell as final community card to give Thorel a higher full house and he jumped up from his massage to celebrate, causing everyone at the table to smile. Even Badziakouski was smiling in defeat when he shook hands with Thorel and exited the tournament area.

Aldemir Takes a Big One Off Tsoukernik

Niveau 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Koray Aldemir raised to 27,000 from early position and Bertrand Grospellier called from one seat over. Leon Tsoukernik then three-bet to 107,000 from the hijack and the action folded back to Aldemir, who opted to call. Grospellier folded and the remaining two players headed to the flop of {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{5-Hearts}.

Aldemir check-called a bet worth 85,000 and did so again for 110,000 on the {5-Clubs} turn. Aldemir checked the third street in a row on the {8-Hearts} river and Tsoukernik checked behind. Aldemir flipped over {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} for aces and fives with a queen kicker and Tsoukernik mucked.
