Approaching the Final 100 Soon

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

The pace of eliminations has slowed down, but still more than 12 players ran out of chips entirely since returning from the break. Among them was Julian Herold and Krzysztof Dulowski also just bowed out.

Down to around 90,000, he was at risk preflop with {A-Hearts}{J-Clubs} and Benjamin Philipps looked him up in the cutoff with the {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The board ran out {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} to eliminate Dulowski.

Tedeschi Takes from Vousden

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Paul-Francois Tedeschi opened to 13,000 and Hirokazu Kobayashi called in the small blind. Samuel Vousden three-bet to 51,000 with another 131,000 behind and Tedeschi called, Kobayashi folded. On the {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, Vousden checked and Tedeschi moved all in for 175,000.

"Aces?" Vousden asked and Tedeschi replied, but Vousden didn't understand what he said. "I cover you," Ludovic Lacay between them said and Vousden replied "yeah, I know that." After another minute passed, he mucked and the pot was shipped to Tedeschi.

Peters Busts Vasylchenko in Biggest Pot to Date

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Oleg Vasylchenko
Oleg Vasylchenko

Oleg Vasylchenko had half a million in chips at the last break, but that has since been reduced to zero and David Peters emerged as the first chip millionaire.

After a raise to 14,000, Peters called and Vasylchenko then three-bet to 50,000 from the cutoff. The initial raiser folded, but Peters called and headed to a flop of {9-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Spades}. Peters checked, Vasylchenko bet 45,000 and then faced the check-raise all in by Peters. After some consideration, the Russian called.

Oleg Vasylchenko: {10-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
David Peters: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}

Vasylchenko was still ahead with the straight, but that all changed on the {6-Clubs} turn to leave him drawing dead. While the {K-Spades} river fell, Vasylchenko had already walked away from the table in disbelief.

Broskij Doubles Through Vlachakis

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Michiel Broskij's stack was being counted when we arrived at his table: 124,000. He had {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs} in front of him, good for the nuts on the {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} flop. Alexandros Vlachakis' cards were already in the muck, and from the sound of the table talk, the two had gotten it in on the flop with Broskij drawing big and getting there.

Gordillo Flips Well

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Yet another coin flip decided over the fate of a short stack and it was Pablo Gordillo who was at risk. The Spaniard was among the bigger stacks early on but had since dropped to 71,000 and got it in with {K-Spades}{J-Clubs}. Table neighbor Jonathan Abdellatif called with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and the board came {K-Clubs}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Gordillo doubled.

Gill is Gutted

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Ryan McEathron check-raised a flop of {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Spades} flop and then called all in for his last 111,000 out of the big blind with the {9-Spades}{5-Spades}. Robert Gill had the {K-Spades}{3-Spades} on the button and saw the board complete with the {4-Diamonds} turn and {5-Clubs} river.

McEathron doubled, then dropped some chips soon after again to drop back to a below-average stack.

Halme's Three-Barrel Fails

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

Antti Halme bet 20,000 from middle position against two opponents in a hand on the stream. Only Friedrich Meyer, on his left, called on the {4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop. Halme bet 45,000 more on the {6-Hearts} turn and 115,000 on the {q-Spades} river. Meyer consider about three minutes and then called. Hlme had {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a busted draw, and Meyer showed {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} to take the pot.

After the hand, the stream didn't show Meyer's stack, but it looked to be in the neighborhood of 500,000.

Niveau 17 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante

After a raise by Janos Kurtosi, [Removed:197] moved all in for around 110,000 from the button and the action folded back to Kurtosi. The big stack from Hungary called and took the coin flip.

[Removed:197]: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}
Janos Kurtosi: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

The {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{9-Spades} flop improved Kurtosi, and the {2-Clubs} turn and {9-Hearts} river bricked off to eliminate [Removed:198]. Almost at the same time and two tables over, Danut Chisu was also eliminated.
