Clement Eloy played a high-stakes heads-up match in Barcelona.

You have to wonder what it’s like to play for $10,000 – more money than you’ve ever won before — only to then discover you’re also playing for a Platinum Pass.

That’s a credit card sized prize worth more than double that ten grand. And with it all those potentially life changing possibilities, hosted by PokerStars at the PSPC 2020 in Barcelona next August.

Oh, and you’re playing heads up, with a short stack. And you need to be quick because the blinds are going up.

Clement Eloy can tell you exactly what that’s like. And what it’s like to win it all. It’s what he did on Tuesday night to be the first winner of a new Platinum Pass...

Day 1b Chip Leader Margolin Gone

Niveau 18 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Timur Margolin
Timur Margolin

Just before the break. Timur Margolin raised to 14,000 in the final hand and Ioannis Zachmanidis, who just got moved to Table 5, called in position. After the flop went check/check and unknown turn action, the board read {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}{10-Spades}.

Margolin bet 25,000, leaving himself with 80,000 behind. Zachmanidis shoved and Margolin used his remaining three time-bank cards before calling it off.

Margolin held {q-Spades}{4-Spades} for a backdoor flush but Zachmanidis had turned a boat with {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} to send the Day 1b chip leader to the rail.

Shortly before the end of the level, Adam Jonsson and Klemens Roiter got their chips in the middle after a series of raises. Jonsson played 538,000 total and had Roiter covered by a hair.

Klemens Roiter: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

First to act, Jeremy Palvini opened to 15,000 and Lukas Zaskodny moved all in for 89,000 from one seat over. Thiago Signorelli Viana made the call and Palvini called with some 110,000 behind. Both remaining active players checked the {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop and Palvini jammed the {9-Hearts} turn, which Viana snap-called.

Lukas Zaskodny: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Jeremy Palvini: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Ema Zajmovic
Ema Zajmovic

On a flop of {q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades}, Ema Zajmovic meant to check-call but instead tossed in a T-25,000 chip, which resulted in a check-raise instead and Joao Monte Studart called to see the {4-Hearts} on the turn. Zajmovic now moved all in for 170,000 and Monte Studart reluctantly called.

Ema Zajmovic: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Joao Monte Studart: {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

The river was the {8-Spades} and Zajmovic collected her belongings.

"Can I ask you one question?" Joshua Jones asked and Zajmovic nodded. "I had pocket sevens before," the Brit continued and Zajmovic told Jones that he would have won the hand.

"Can't win em all," Jones concluded and Zajmovic headed to the payout desk.

Naor Slobodskoy
Naor Slobodskoy

A hand was in progress between Naor Slobodskoy and Ramiro Petrone. With around 180,000 in the middle already on a {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} board, Slobodskoy checked to Petrone who bet 180,000.

Slobodskoy used a time extension before moving all in for 381,000. Petrone wasted no time in calling with {j-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} for a full house.

However, Slobodskoy had that beat with {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a larger full house and doubled to over 900,000 in chips. Petrone, meanwhile, who started the day with over 700,000 falls below the average which currently stands at 312,000.
