Mikalai Vaskaboinikau just took his seat in the tournament and opened to 2,500 from early position. Seth Davies three-bet to 8,500 in the cutoff and the action folded back to Vaskaboinikau who called.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and Vaskaboinikau check-called a bet of 4,000 from Davies. The turn was the {a-Hearts} which slowed down the action as both players checked. The river brought the {3-Diamonds} and both players quickly knuckled the table again.

Vaskaboinikau turned over {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} but Davies revealed {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} for the higher pocket pair.

Welcome to the €50,000 Single-Day High Roller

2019 PokerStars Monte Carlo EPT
2019 PokerStars Monte Carlo EPT

One day after Timothy Adams won the €25,000 Single-Day High Roller, it is now time to step things up a notch. The competition will be very similar but the stakes will be doubled for the €50,000 Single Day High Roller.

The 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino EPT festival is on the home stretch now and for those looking to pocket some cash in the high rollers, time is starting to run out. Charlie Carrel is now three-for-three on cashes in the high roller tournaments thus far but is still searching for his first title. He will get that shot today with the first-place prize expected to be near the seven-figure mark.

The structure will be very similar to that of yesterday's tournament with players each getting 100,000 chips to start. The levels will be 30 minutes in length and will begin at 500/1,000 with a 1,000 big blind ante. There will also be a shot clock in play from the start, allowing each player 30 seconds to act. They will be given six time banks that are worth 30 seconds each.

The action will get underway at 12:30 p.m. local time and late registration will remain open through the first eight levels until approximately 5:00 p.m. There will be unlimited re-entries permitted so the action should be fast-paced to kick things off. There will also be a 15-minute break after every four levels and a 75-minute dinner break after level 14.

Follow along with the PokerNews live reporting team for all of the live updates until a winner is crowned later tonight.
