The Second and Final Flight of the €330 EPT Cup Kicks Off at 6 P.M.
A new day has arrived at the 2019 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo®Casino European Poker Tour (EPT) and at 6 p.m. local time Day 1b of the €330 EPT Cup will start. Yesterday saw 265 players register for Day 1a and only 13 of them made it through to Day 2.
Alexandre Moreau grabbed the chip lead with 995,000 and he's well ahead of Andrea Schettino (675,000) in second and Vamshi Vandanapu (625,000) in third. Another familiar name that made it through to Day 2 is Jia Tang. Tang finished 27th in the 2018 EPT Prague Main Event and is looking to make another score on the European circuit.
A couple of familiar faces showed up on Day 1a but most of them didn't make Day 2. Pete Chen, Aylar Lie, Abdelkrim Chenoufi, and Bruno Hormigo all entered the tournament but they failed to find a bag. They do have the shot to reenter in flight 1b but that will be their last shot as there are no more starting flights after this one. Day 1b will be played as a freeze-out.
Players will start the day with 20,000 in chips and the first 20-minute level of the day will be 100/100 without an ante. The tournament uses a big blind ante from the second level onwards and players can enjoy a 20-minute break after every six levels. Registration will close after the eighth level. Fifteen percent of the field will reach the money and they will play down to the final five percent before they bag up. Yesterday's flight ended right at the start of level 23 and they had 19 minutes and 20 seconds left in that level.
The field will combine on Tuesday, April 30th. Levels will be 30 minutes long on Day 2 and they will play down to a winner. Day 2 will start at 1 p.m. local time. PokerNews will be on the floor to report on the tournament until a winner is crowned in the €330 EPT Cup.
