Grafton Showers Czuczor To Take Chip Lead

Niveau 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

An all in and call were overheard and Marton Czuczor had gotten his stack in for what looked to be about 100,000 from early position against Sam Grafton, who was in the cutoff.

Marton Czuczor: {10-Hearts}{10-Spades}
Sam Grafton: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Czuczor was unable to find help on the runout as the board came {k-Spades}{7-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}, leaving his pocket tens second best to the jacks of Grafton. Meanwhile, Grafton now finds himself with just shy of 450,000, which is the largest stack in the room among the nine tables of play.

Lu Flops a Pair to Eliminate Baumann

Niveau 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Gaelle Baumann returned from the break with a stack of less than 10 big blinds and she shoved all in for 24,000 in the hijack. Yunye Lu called on the button and the blinds folded.

Yunye Lu: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Gaelle Baumann: {4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

The flop came {9-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Lu took the lead with a pair of nines. The {8-Hearts} on the turn left Baumann with just two outs and the {3-Diamonds} on the river was not one of them.

Eibinger Takes from Soyza

Niveau 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Michael Soyza opened to 5,500 in middle position and Matthias Eibinger called in the hijack. All remaining players folded and action went heads up to a flop of {j-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. Soyza checked to Eibinger, who bet 5,000 and was called.

The turn came {4-Hearts} and Soyza checked again. Eibinger thought for 25 seconds and then sized up, putting out a bet of 21,500. Soyza called once more.

The river fell {3-Clubs} and Soyza checked a third time. Eibinger took 25 seconds once more and then slid out all of his chips except for a T1,000 chip. Soyza quickly sent his cards to the muck.

"Well I'm not going to win this one," said Parker Talbot heading to the exit. He is joined on the rail by recent eliminations such as Kristen Bicknell and last year's third-place finisher Alexandre Reard.

Boivin Gets Counterfeited

Niveau 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Thomas Boivin raised it up from the hijack and was called by Krasimir Yankov in the cutoff. The flop came {k-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Spades} and Boivin tossed in a bet of 5,000. Yankov raised to 10,000 and Boivin responded by shoving all in for around 55,000. Yankov called and the cards were tabled.

Krasimir Yankov: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Thomas Boivin: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}

Yankov flopped top pair but Boivin flopped two pair in hopes of a double up. The {4-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing but the {k-Spades} on the river gave Yankov trips to eliminate Boivin.

Martirosian Leads the Turn

Niveau 12 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Jun Obara opened to 5,500 under the gun and action made its way around to Artur Martirosian, who defended his big blind. The flop dropped {3-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Martirosian checked. Obara made a continuation-bet of 6,000 and Martirosian called.

The turn came {10-Clubs} and Martirosian led out with a bet of 10,000. Obara thought for a couple of seconds and sent his cards to the muck, resulting in the pot being sent Martirosian's way.

Martirosian started the day with 50,000 and now finds himself having nearly tripled that; meanwhile, Obara has lost around one-third of his stack in the first one-and-two-thirds levels of the day, though his 185,000 still remains firmly above the average stack of 150,000 in the room with 84 players remaining.
