Sochi

84 runners paid the ₽371,000 ($5,725) entry fee to have a shot at winning a slice of the ₽28,518,000 ($439,142) prizepool. Of those, only nine remain and they will return to the felt shortly to play the final table here at Casino Sochi.

Of the finalists, Elvin Sarkarov is leading the way with just over a million in chips (1,049,000). Pete Chen is in second place with 666,000 and Rushad Iskandarov (521,000) starts in third. Team PokerStars Pro Ramon Colillas is also still in contention and will start in eighth place. All nine finalists have guaranteed a payday of at least ₽812,000 ($12,481) but all eyes will be on the top prize of ₽7,840,000 ($120,590).

Yesterday, play paused when the final table was reached and today players start from where they left off, which was Level 17, with blinds at 5,000/10,000 and a big blind ante of 10,000. There are still 30 minutes left of this level and as with yesterday, levels will be 60-minutes long. There will be breaks every 2 hours and players will decide whether or not they would like to extend one of those into a dinner break.

Today we play until a winner is crowned and they take home the title, the trophy and the all-important prize money. It all kicks-off at 12:30 pm local time and PokerNews will be here for the duration, with live updates of all the action as it unfolds.
