Beresford Eliminated in Three-Way All-In

Niveau 11 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Alexandros Theologis
Alexandros Theologis

Conor Beresford waited for a spot to get his short stack in and did so from under the gun. The action folded all the way to Andras Nemeth in the small blind and he jammed to isolate for the bounty. Alexandros Theologis gave it some thought and called all-in from the big blind.

Conor Beresford: {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Andras Nemeth: {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Alexandros Theologis: {k-Clubs}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Beresford was eliminated. Theologis not only collected the Brit's bounty but also doubled through Nemeth for 190,000.

Double-Ups for Muehloecker and Kim

Niveau 11 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Alex Kulev pushed in a battle of the blinds into the shorter stacked Thomas Muehloecker and the Austrian called it off.

Kulev tabled the {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs} while Muehloecker was ahead with {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. Neither player connected with the {q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} board and Muehloecker doubled.

Gab Yong Kim also notched up a double as well. On the completed board of {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, Audrius Stakelis pushed with the covering stack. Kim used some time bank extensions and called to get shown the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a pair of queens, which he had beat holding the {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} to double for 125,000.

Song Doubles Up

Niveau 11 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Adrian Mateos opened for 11,500 from the hijack. Daewoong Song jammed all in from the cutoff for 90,000. Ognyan Dimov was in the small blind and thought for a moment before calling the jam. Mateos folded after thinking for about 20 seconds.

Song was in a good spot to double as he held the {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} against the {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} of Dimov.

The flop came down {6-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} to open up some chop opportunities. The turn was the {9-Clubs} and the river came the {8-Hearts} to secure the double for Song as he starts his day on a good note.

Yokosawa Doubles Through Kulev

Niveau 11 : 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Alex Kulev opened to 10,000 in the cutoff and Masato Yokosawa then jammed for 45,000. Kulev asked for a count and once it was deemed to be fewer than half of the starting stack, he instantly called with a slightly surprised expression.

Masato Yokosawa: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}
Alex Kulev: {a-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Yokosawa rivered the superior pair to survive.

Kulev Leads Heading Into Day 2 of the €10,200 No-Limit Hold'em Bounty High Roller at 12:30 p.m.

Alex Kulev
Alex Kulev

The first event of the long-awaited PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague enters Day 2 today at 12:30 p.m. local time at the King’s Casino here in the heart of Prague.

Alex Kulev, the Dublin-based Bulgarian poker pro, leads the field of 25 remaining by some distance after a successful Day 1 sees him bring a nice stack of 604,000 into Day 2, which is good for 121 big blinds to start the day.

Timothy Adams of Canada starts the day second in chips with 452,000, Niklas Astedt of Sweden (389,000), Lithuanian Audrius Skakelis (375,000) and Bulgarian Ognyan Dimov (371,000) round out the top five stacks at the start of Day 2. In total, players from nine different countries make up the top ten stacks, with even more represented throughout the remaining 25 players.

Day 2 will begin at Level 11 with blinds at 2,500/5,000 and a big blind ate of 5,000. Day 1 drew 56 total entries and 25 made it to Day 2. But late registration is still open until the start of play, so it is likely that there will be a few more entries who jump in with the 20 big blind stack to take a shot at Day 2 to further increase the current prizepool of €543,200 as well as the €5,000 for each bounty collected by each player.

Each level on Day 2 will be 30-minutes in length and the plan is to play all the way down to a winner as PokerNews will have all the action as the first winner is crowned in this kick-off event in Prague.
