Waki Jams Into the Lead

Niveau 4 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The very last hand in level four brought some action in a battle of the blinds. Until the {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Clubs} river, a pot of 22,000 had merged and betting action led to Daniel Dvoress investing 45,000 out of the small blind. Yasuhiro Waki then pushed all-in with the covering stack of 175,000 and Dvoress used multiple time banks before he folded.

First and Only Break on Day 1

Niveau 4 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Out of a field of 35 entries, just 33 players remain and they have been sent into a scheduled 20-minute break. Another four levels of 30 minutes each are scheduled for tonight before all players bag and tag their chips.

Easy Pot for Kisacikoglu

Niveau 4 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Alex Peffly defended the big blind against a raise by Orpen Kisacikoglu and then checked the {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Spades} flop. Kisacikoglu made it 5,000 to go and Peffly grinned, admitted he needed a lot of help and folded. "I am sorry if you have a big hand," the Brit joked as Kisacikoglu raked in the pot with a smile.

Smolka Takes It on the Turn

Niveau 4 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

On a flop of {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}, Jamil Wakil bet 5,000 into 6,500 out of the big blind and Dawid Smolka called in the cutoff. They headed to the {a-Spades} turn on which Wakil now opted to check. Smolka bet 7,500 and that won the pot.

The same table now also features the WSOP bracelet winner Motoyoshi Okamura, who signed up just moments prior.

Naves Bets Big on the River

Tauan Naves

Levan Rcheulishvili raised it up to 3,500 from under the gun and was called by Santhosh Suvarna and Tauan Naves out of the blinds. The latter duo check-called a bet worth 4,500 by Rcheulishvili on the {q-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} flop and the trio checked the {q-Diamonds} on the turn. Suvarna also checked the {a-Spades} river and Naves bet 34,000, which he announced in Portuguese first to confuse the dealer.

Rcheulishvili reluctantly called and Suvarna came to the same conclusion.

Gleissner Doubles Through Newey

Niveau 4 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Picking up the action on the {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop, Bernd Gleissner checked and then jammed his last 35,000 over a bet worth 4,000 by Paul Newey. The Brit inquired with the dealer twice if he had announced call or all-in and then came along anyways.

Bernd Gleissner: {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Paul Newey: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The {7-Hearts} turn gave Gleissner a gutshot on top and he instead spiked the {a-Diamonds} on the river for the double.

In the previous hand, Alex Peffly had folded the flop when facing a bet of 11,000 by Gab Yong Kim. The latter then also came along in the small blind when Peffly raised the button, as did Orpen Kisacikoglu in the big blind. On the {j-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} flop, only Kisacikoglu check-called a bet worth 4,500 by Peffly and then check-folded the {2-Diamonds} turn when the Brit made it 10,000 to go.
