Recent Eliminations

Niveau 9 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The table of Ben Heath was three-handed after two players bowed out in Pedro Marques and Pedro Garagnani. They were waiting for new players to arrive and the field was balanced shortly after as several other contenders bowed out in quick succession.

Yotsushika Jams Into Fast

Niveau 9 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Ognyan Dimov lost the remainder of his short stack while his former table now also features Pedro Marques, who appears to be the last player to enter on Day 2 thus far.

Another Day 2 entry successfully jammed up his stack moments later. That happened to be Japan's Kazuhiko Yotsushika, who moved all-in after the heads-up turn of {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} on the button. Dietrich Fast was in the tank in the cutoff and reluctantly folded to get shown the {j-Hearts}{j-Clubs} by Yotsushika.

Schumacher Among Early Casualties on Day 2

Niveau 9 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Yannick Schumacher moved all-in for exactly 20,000 from under the gun and Andriy Lyubovetskiy called on the button. Motoyoshi Okamura then reshoved in the big blind and Lyubovetskiy snap-folded.

Yannick Schumacher: {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs}
Motoyoshi Okamura: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

The {9-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop had Schumacher on very thin ice but he gained some unlikely equity with the {10-Hearts} turn. However, the {a-Spades} river only improved Okamura to aces full as the German became one of the early casualties.

Vicent Bosca Ramom departed at almost the same time. His cards were already mucked as Daniel Dvoress raked in the pot with {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} out of the big blind, which had made a full house on the {j-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Spades}{5-Clubs} board. It was the second bullet for the Spaniard and he won't be allowed to re-enter anymore.

Masashi Oya also bowed out shortly after as well.

O'Dwyer Gets Paid by Reixach on the River

Niveau 9 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The board read {q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{q-Hearts} with 31,000 in the middle.

Steve O'Dwyer shoved from the small blind for 49,500 for Sergi Reixach on the button to jump into the tank. After using a time bank card, he opted to make the call with the {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}- for the higher two pair on the board but O'Dwyer tabled the {q-Spades}{j-Spades} for the full house and double-up.

Lyubovetskiy Bets Small on the River

Niveau 9 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The flop read {8-Spades}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts} with 18,500 in the middle already.

Andriy Lyubovetskiy had checked in the big blind while Sirzat Hissou bet from the button. Lyubovetskiy raised it up to 21,000 for Hissou to respond with a reraise to 50,000. Lyubovetskiy took a few seconds before making the call.

They both checked through the {3-Clubs} on the turn to the {j-Spades} on the river. Lyubovetskiy bet 11,000 for Hissou to contemplate for a bit before making the call and mucking when he saw Lyubovetskiy held the {q-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the pair of eights.

Thorel Chips Up Against Kulev

Niveau 9 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Initial raiser Jean-Noel Thorel in the cutoff was spotted with a bet worth 12,000 on the {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Alex Kulev in the big blind eyeballed the stack of his opponent carefully. He even ran out of the 30 second shot clock to use a time bank before making the call.

Kulev then led the {8-Spades} turn for 11,000 for Thorel to call and both checked the {8-Clubs} on the river. Kulev's cards were briefly shown but Thorel had the best of it with the {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}.

Mateos Doubles Through Bosca Ramon

Niveau 9 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Adrian Mateos chipped up early on and then three-bet jammed out of the big blind for 52,500. The initial raiser Vicent Bosca Ramon had 7,000 invested by then and eventually called without using a time bank.

"I think I will win," Bosca Ramon said and he was flipping with the {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}. However, it was Mateos with the {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} who came out on top on the {8-Clubs}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} board to score an early double.

The first High Roller contest of the 2022 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) presented by Monte-Carlo Casino® at the Monte-Carlo Sporting complex will play down to a winner today. It was a very promising start for the return of Europe's premier live poker tour to the French Riviera after a three year hiatus and a field of 71 entries has emerged thus far in Event #4 €10,200 Mystery Bounty, of which 50 players remain for the final day.

Thanks to a short-lived first day, the late registration remains open for another two levels when the action gets back underway as of 12.30 pm local time in the America's Room. All those who have been eliminated just once or new participants can enter and the only player no longer eligible to join again is Andras Nemeth, as he has exhausted the maximum of two entries already.

Ben Heath leads the pack with a stack of 404,500 and he is followed by Luciano De Hollanda (340,500), Sergi Reixach (300,500), and Sam Greenwood (277,000). Also among the overnight top ten are the likes of Alex Kulev, Timothy Adams, and Boris Kolev.

The tournament also features the latest craze in the world of poker, the Mystery Bounty format. From the €10,200 buy-in, €4,700 will go towards the cash prize pool while €5,000 are allocated to the bounty prize pool. All Mystery Bounties will be calculated once the registration closes and they come into play when the event has reached the money stages.

The contenders still in contention when the cash bubble has burst will receive a Mystery Bounty token. For each opponent eliminated, the winner will collect the respective token and can then draw an envelope to determine their bounty prize.

With a cash prize pool of €333,700, the Mystery Bounties will play a pivotal role on the business end of the tournament and you can follow along right here on PokerNews as the live reporting team will be there until the final hand has been dealt.
