Vieira Chips Up Against Chidwick

Niveau 5 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Two long hands ran several minutes into the break. In one of them, Alex Kulev got a shove through against Byron Kaverman while the other contest didn't reach the all-in stage.

On a flop of {j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Stephen Chidwick bet 12,000 into a pot of 17,500 and Joao Vieira raised to 37,000. Chidwick called and checked the {k-Spades} on the turn. Vieira then used one time bank extension and bet 23,000, sending his opponent into the tank. Chidwick, likewise, used a time bank and eventually folded.

Andronikashvili Eliminated by Kulev

Niveau 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Alex Kulev

Guram Andronikashvili had previously jammed a short stack of around 27,000 and claimed the blinds and big blind ante. Only a few minutes later, he was at risk once more for what appeared to be 28,000 in the cutoff. This time the call by Alex Kulev in the small blind followed and the cards were turned over.

Guram Andronikashvili: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Alex Kulev: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Andronikashvili immediately sighed when he saw the bad news and found no help on the {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} runout.

Reixach Raises Out Newey

Niveau 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Paul Newey and Sergi Reixach headed to the {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop on which Newey check-called a bet worth 2,500. He then checked again the {4-Diamonds} on the turn and Reixach fired a significantly bigger bet of 20,000. That shut down Newey, as the Brit quickly surrendered.

Chidwick Back on the Rise

Niveau 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

After a rocky start into the tournament, Stephen Chidwick has leaped back above the starting stack thanks to earning a showdown pot against Joao Vieira. The completed board showed {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and there were around 43,000 in the middle. Chidwick bet 15,000 and Vieira used one time bank extension before making the call.

Once Chidwick tabled the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for trips aces, Vieira instantly sent his cards into the muck.

Ventura Third Casualty of the Tournament

Niveau 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Out of a field of 56 entries, only 53 players remain as Diego Ventura was spotted on his way out. The Peruvian had defended out of the blinds and flopped the bottom two pair with {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts} on a board of {q-Spades}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}. However, they would be no good as Kayhan Mokri Roshanfekr had the superior two pair with {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} to score the knockout and leapfrog into a narrow lead.

De Hollanda Chips Up Without Showdown; Aldemir Joins

Niveau 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Davidi Kitai raised to 4,000 and received no fewer than three callers in Luciano De Hollanda on the butto, Masashi Oya in the small blind and Paul Newey in the big blind. The {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop was checked and Oya bet the {4-Hearts} turn for 6,500. Newey folded while Kitai and De Hollanda both called.

After the {a-Diamonds} river, the action was checked to De Hollanda and his bet of 30,000 forced two folds. As the hand played out, Koray Aldemir took the empty seat between Oya and Newey.

Dimov Flips Well Against Gahl

Niveau 4 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

The cards were already flipped over as Ognyan Dimov was the player at risk for 57,500. He had the {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts} in front and was flipping versus Sebastian Gahl's {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}. On a board of {k-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Spades}, Dimov hit a king on the flop and river to double with the superior full house.
