Eibinger Spikes River to Double Through Dvoress

Niveau 15 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Matthias Eibinger
Matthias Eibinger

Daniel Dvoress opened to 24,000 in the hijack and Matthias Eibinger shoved for 117,000 in the small blind. Action folded back to Dvoress who called. Both players first revealed an ace before revealing their full hands.

Matthias Eibinger: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Daniel Dvoress: {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs}

Eibinger was pipped and needed to improve as the {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} flop changed nothing. The {j-Hearts} turn left the defending champ of this event needing a king, and the {k-Clubs} indeed hit the felt on the river to give him Broadway and the double-up.

Daniel Dvoress shoved on the button and Stephen Chidwick called in the small blind for his short stack of 28,000 chips.

Stephen Chidwick: {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Daniel Dvoress: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}

Chidwick was in fairly good shape with ten-eight, but the board ran out {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} to eliminate him as he failed to improve.

Brewer Busted by Badziakouski

Niveau 13 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Chris Brewer
Chris Brewer

Before the blinds went up, Chris Brewer got his short stack of about 30,000 in from the hijack and was at risk against Mikita Badziakouski in early position.

Chris Brewer: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Mikita Badziakouski: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Brewer ran into Badziakouski's aces, and although the turn would provide some gutshot outs, the {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{a-Clubs} runout kept Badziakouski in front and eliminated Brewer.

Grafton Eliminated by Dvoress

Niveau 10 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Soon after doubling-up Daniel Dvoress, Sam Grafton got the rest of his approximately 63,000 chips in against him.

Sam Grafton: {a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Daniel Dvoress: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}

Dvoress did his best attempt at some sort of magic to prevent the dealer from improving Grafton as the {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop improved both players to a pair and kept Dvoress in front. The turn and river were both blanks and the PokerStars Ambassador made his exit, while Dvoress chipped up.

Matthias Eibinger
Matthias Eibinger

Matthias Eibinger had gotten the rest of his approximately 35,000 chips in against Jean-Noel Thorel.

Matthias Eibinger: {q-Spades}{10-Spades}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Eibinger was in rough shape and found no help on the {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{7-Hearts} runout.

"The defending champ is out!" Sam Grafton announced at the table. "Shockwaves go through the casino... stunned silence," he continued, referencing the fact that Eibinger had won this event at the previous EPT Monte Carlo back in 2019

Petrangelo Bets Almost Everything

Niveau 6 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Nicholas Petrangelo
Nicholas Petrangelo

Stephen Chidwick's stack has increased and it looks like he was responsible for the elimination of Sergi Reixach.

A few hands later, Nick Petrangelo completed his small blind and Chris Brewer raised it up to 7,000 from the big blind which Petrangelo called.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, Petrangelo check-called the 10,000 continuation-bet of Brewer.

They both checked through the {a-Diamonds} on the turn to the {q-Diamonds} on the river. Petrangelo checked for the final time. Brewer fired a bet of 20,000 out for Petrangelo to take some time to consider his options. In the end, he raised it up to 92,000, keeping a 500-value chip behind. Brewer tanked for a bit but opted to fold in the end.

Schemion Can't Stay Alive Against Dvoress

Ole Schemion
Ole Schemion

Ole Schemion pushed his last few chips over the line from the cutoff and Daniel Dvoress three-bet to 12,500 from the small blind/ Matthias Eibinger folded his big blind to let them battle it out.

Ole Schemion: {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Daniel Dvoress: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The flop came {5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} to bring chopping outs to the table.

The turn was the {10-Hearts} for Schemion to hit a pair and have a glimmer of hope of doubling up but the {k-Spades} came on the river to dash those dreams as it gave Dvoress a set to bust Schemion.
