Gurrea Fades The River to Eliminate Robles
Niveau 7
: Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
Miguel Gurrea raised to 2,000 from middle position and found one caller in Rafael Robles in the big blind.
Robles check-called a 2,300 bet from Gurrea on the 8♠7♣K♠ flop and then checked again to Gurrea on the 10♦ turn. Gurrea bet 8,300 and Robles shoved for 26,500 total, sending Gurrea deep into the tank. A tablemate eventually called the clock and the tournament director nearly counted down to zero before Gurrea stuck in a call to put Robles at risk.
Rafael Robles: 7♠5♠
Miguel Gurrea: K♥J♠
Gurrea was ahead with his pair of kings, but would need to fade a bevy of outs to eliminate Robles.
The 2♥ river bricked out for Robles and his remaining chips were added to Gurrea's stack.
