Derwiche Gets a Shove Through; Mendes Felts Reichenstein
Niveau 11
: 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Imad Derwiche raised to 3,500 from middle position and Johnny Mendes called from the big blind. The flop was 10♥8♦7♣ and Mendes checked. Derwiche shoved the rest of his short stack for around 20,000 and Mendes gave it a moment of thought. It was too much and Mendes gave up the pot.
Action was heads up on a nearby table with around 30,000 in the pot and K♦K♥3♣A♦ on the board. Kyle Cheong bet 10,500 from the big blind and Uri Reichenstein called from the cutoff. The river was 7♥ and Cheong slid out 50,000 to cover the rest of Reichenstein's chips. Reichenstein called for the rest of his stack and turned over A♣J♥, but Cheong had A♥Q♥ to take the pot with a pair of aces and a better kicker.
