This is the second time that an EPT Main Event drew more than 2,000 total entries, the first coming right here in Barcelona in 2022.
The 1,593 unique players represented 85 countries, up from 78 in 2022. The top five nations are France (205), Italy (144), Spain (124), Brazil (89), and the United Kingdom (76). The 205 runners from France accounted for 12.7% of the field.
Terence Etim was all in from the big blind against the bigger-stacked Ivan Velickovic in early position.

Etim flopped a pair and a flush draw and took the lead on the 8♦ turn, but the Q♠ then landed on the river to give Velickovic trips and to make Etim's elimination.
Stanislau Shylkou opened to 4,000 in middle position and Samuel Fournier called in the hijack before Eric Kitain three-bet jammed a stack of 33,000 on the button. Both opponents folded to with Kitain the pot.
With a pot brewed of about 30,000, the turn read 10♦10♠9♦5♦, and Alan Ferraro led 12,500 from the big blind. Tzur Levy was on the button and took about 45 seconds before making the call.
When the 3♦ completed the board, Ferraro checked and Levy thought about his options for close to a minute before deciding to check-back. Ferraro rolled over K♦8♠ making a flush on the river and Levy mucked his hand.
The field of 2,120 entries generated a prize pool of €10,282,000, from which the winner will take home €1,488,000. The top 303 players are guaranteed a min-cash of at least €8,850.
Kostya Zaks shoved for his last 20,000 on the button and action folded to Ren Lin in the big blind, who verified the count and then said, "Gamble gamble!" as he stuck in a call.
