Shmelev Doubles Up With Kings
Niveau 7
: Blinds 400/800, 800 ante
From early position, Ilia Shmelev opened to 1,600, and was called by Christopher Mouawad in the small blind.
But on the flop 6♥9♦3♦, Mouawad took the lead and bet 3,000. A few seconds later, Shmelev raised to 8,000. Mouawad then moved all in, and Shelve called with the smallest stack (17,700).
Ilia Shmelev: K♦K♥
Christopher Mouawad: A♠9♣
Mouawad had top pair, but he ran into Shmelev's kings. So after the turn 4♦ and the river J♦, Shmelev doubled up.
