Guenni Garners a Double-Up
Niveau 17
: Blinds 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Cesar Garcia had raised to 12,000 from middle position when Mikael Guenni went all in from the cutoff. Garcia asked for a count and the amount to call was 53,000. This elicited a tank from Garcia, who claimed ''It's close''.
Eventually, he made the call and the cards were tabled.
Mikael Guenni: K♠J♥
Cesar Garcia: Q♠9♠
Guenni flopped two pair on K♣J♣8♠, but still had the gutshot straight draw to avoid. The Q♦ turn and 5♥ river completed the board, however, and Guenni doubled up nicely.
