Leonzio Plays Blind, Busts Hallay in his First Hand

Niveau 11 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante

Axel Hallay just sat down at the end of late registration with a fresh stack of 30,000. He made the raise to 3,000 from under the gun before Marco Leonzio made it 6,000 to go, claiming to not have seen his cards yet. The action folded to Will Kassouf in the small blind, who smooth-called.

''If you've got it, you got it,'' exclaimed Hallay before he put the rest of his chips in. ''He's using my line!'' Kassouf responded. While the two were bantering away, Leonzio made the call. Meanwhile, Kassouf had lost interest in the pot and mucked his hand.

Axel Hallay: AQ
Marco Leonzio: K6

Leonzio had not lied, he was indeed playing blind and put 30,000 chips at risk without looking at his cards. While the flop of 797 was dealt Hallay stated, ''A king will come on the river.'' The 5 was a safe turn and the river also made Hallay's prediction fail to come true. However, the 6 still gave Leonzio the best hand as he was the only one to make a pair.

Leonzio stood up and celebrated while the whole table had a good laugh about the situation. Leonzio added another starting stack to his already towering stack and is now playing triple the average.

Okada Wins Huge Without Showdown

A gigantic 35,000 had gathered in the middle preflop, courtesy of three players. The flop J106 was dealt and big blind blind Luca Guglielmoni checked, as did Ken Okada in early and Seyed Saeed Sajadian in middle position.

The turn fell a fourth club in the form of the 7 and Guglielmoni checked again. Okada put out a bet of 15,000 and this was enough to let the other two players pass their hands to the dealer.

Okada is sitting on an impressive stack of just over four starting stacks in the final minutes of the reentry period.

Francois Cuts Camarda Out of the Field

Niveau 9 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Andrew Toole open-raised to 2,500 from under the gun and Salvatore Camarda matched that bet from middle position. Christophe Francois was in the cutoff and made it 7,000, which only Camarda called.

The dealer put three queens in the middle of the table, QQQ was the flop. Camarda promptly went all in for an overbet of 23,300. Francois looked befuddled and thought for a little bit before shrugging and making the call, putting Camarda at risk.

Salvatore Camarda: 88
Christophe Francois: AJ

Camarda flopped a full house while Francois was still searching for an ace or jack to accomplish that feat. The turn 10 was not one of his outs, but Francois eliminated Camarda from the tournament when the J graced the felt on the river.

Camarda shook his head, gathered his belongings, and left the tournament area. Francois is now playing a nice stack of three times starting.
