Floor staff have just announced that blind levels have been adjusted in order that the tournament finishes on time to conclude the EPT Paris event.
Players were given the option to play 40 minute levels or to continue at 60 minute levels with the possibility of reducing the time even more dramatically later in the tournament. Players opted to switch to 40 minute levels and this will be reevaluated as the tournament progresses.
In a dramatic moment that seemed to have been building since players returned from break, Diogo Coelho raised from the cutoff and Fahredin Mustafov reshoved from the big blind. Coelho made the call and players flipped their cards.
Fahredin Mustafov:
Diogo Coelho:
It was a coinflip situation with Mustafov at risk. The board came . Mustafov's pocket nines were good on the flop, but a queen on the turn put Coelho ahead and he held on the river. Mustafov was eliminated in tenth place for €72,000.
With that elimination, it was time for a redraw and the tournament is now down to the final table. Pay jumps from here on are worth tens of thousands of euros.
Mauricio Ferreira Pais raised to 120,000 from the cutoff and Toni Kaukua called in the big blind.
The flop came . Kaukua checked and Pais continued for 175,000. Kaukua made the call.
The turn came the and Kaukua checked again. Pais bet out, this time for 180,000. Kaukua made a check-raise shove all in. Pais instantly made the call and players flipped over their cards to reveal their hands.
Kaukua showed for two pair. Pais flipped for a higher two pair, which gave him the double up after the river bricked. Kaukua still has over 4.5 million in chips, so the loss didn't put him in any real danger. For Pais, the win brings him back into the game and toward the middle of the pack.
Martin Stausholm opened to 140,000 in middle position and Aleksandr Shevliakov and Christian Pedersen both called out of the blinds.
The flop of checked through and the same action took place on the turn. All three players checked again on the river and Shevliakov showed to win the pot with a pair of queens.
Another player has busted from the final table of the €10,300 High Roller.
Action folded around to Vlada Stojanovic in the hijack. He shoved for 900,000. Aleksandr Shevliakov took a time bank card or two before making the call. Players flipped their cards.
Vlada Stojanovic:
Aleksandr Shevliakov:
The board ran out . Stojanovic failed to improve and Shevliakov made a pair of aces on the river. Stojanovic was eliminated in ninth place for €86,400.
