Manuel Fernandez opened to 2,000 in middle position and Jakub Michalak flat-called on the button, while Timothy Adams also came along from the big blind.
Adams checked on the flop of and Fernandez continued for 2,500. Michalak called and Adams got out of the way. Fernandez sized up to 12,000 on the turn and it was enough to get Michalak to fold.
Players are apparently raising blind from under the gun and calling it a straddle, according to this tweet from Chris Brewer. Ren Lin did as much earlier and it ended with a decent pot going Nozomu Shimizu's way.
Andre Moreira raised from the button and Pawel Krol called in the big blind. The flop came . Krol checked and Moreira put out a continuation bet, which Krol called. The turn came the and both players checked.
The river was the and Krol led out for 7,500. Moreira called and cards were on their backs. Krol had and had been attempting to steal the pot with a river bluff. Moreira showed for a pair of aces.
Jun Obara opened to 1,700 in early position and Danilo Velasevic called in the cutoff before Vlada Stojanovic three-bet to 7,500 from the button. Obara called and Velasevic folded.
Obara checked on the flop of and Stojanovic continued for 4,500. Obara called. Obara checked again on the turn and opted to fold when his opponent sized up to 15,000.
Michael Watson on the button and Igor D'Ursel in the hijack were on a completed board of . D'Ursel had checked to Watson, who put out a bet of 4,600 into a pot of roughly 6,000.
D'Ursel then check-raised to 22,000 chips, a big portion of his stack. Watson let his shot clock go down to the last seconds before he put in a big stack of T-5,000 chips as a three-bet, enough to put his opponent all in.
D'Ursel folded instantly, granting the victory to Watson, who stacked his newly won chips onto his already impressive stack.
Diogo Machado made a hijack raise to 1,600 and Omar Lakhdari called in the small blind. Sam Grafton took a quick glance across at his opponent before reraising to 7,000. Machado and Lakhdari both called.
The flop came . Lakhdari checked and Grafton made a continuation bet of 5,500. Machado called and Lakhdari folded, meaning two players would see the turn.
The turn was the and Grafton bet out for 8,000, which Machado called. The final card came the and Grafton led again, this time putting in a large bet of 13,600, which represented most of his opponent's stack. Machado did make the call, leaving himself just a few thousand behind.
Grafton flipped over for an overpair to the board. Machado mucked his hand and the chips were pushed over to Grafton, who has made good progress since entering the event and is now sitting on over 80,000 chips.
