Niveau 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Jean Noel Thorel
Jean Noel Thorel

Stephen Chidwick raised to 100,000 from the button and Jean-Noel Thorel called from the big blind.

Thorel check-called for 90,000 on the {j-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop before moving all in for 740,000 on the {8-Hearts} turn. Chidwick used up a time bank before calling as the bigger stack.

Jean-Noel Thorel: {k-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Stephen Chidwick: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

Thorel was ahead with his pair of sixes, but Chidwick was still live with his overcards and superior flush draw.

The {q-Hearts} river gave Chidwick the nut flush and he eliminated the Frenchman.

Up and Down for Thorel

Niveau 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick raised to 100,000 on the button and Jean-Noel Thorel called in the big blind. The flop came {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} and both players checked to the {8-Diamonds} on the turn. Thorel open-jammed all in for 610,000 and Chidwick gave it up.

Two hands later, Thorel raised to 150,000 on the button and Adrian Mateos defended from the big blind. The flop fell {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} and both players checked to the {k-Clubs} on the turn.

Mateos checked again and Thorel fired out a bet of 100,000. Mateos called and the {5-Spades} completed the board. Two quick checks and Mateos showed {8-Spades}{7-Spades} for a pair of eights to win the pot.

Thorel Stands, But Gets to Sit Back Down

Niveau 21 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel pushed all in for his last 400,000 on the button and Adrian Mateos confirmed the amount before calling in the big blind.

Jean-Noel Thorel: {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Adrian Mateos: {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

Thorel rose from his seat with his chips at risk but the flop of {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{5-Spades} gave him the best hand with a pair of tens. The {k-Clubs} and {k-Spades} river changed nothing and Thorel was allowed to sit back down after doubling up.

Stephen Chidwick: {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}
Adrian Mateos: {a-Spades}{8-Spades}

Chidwick was in a great position to double up and make this a contest while Mateos was trying to gather nearly all of the chips in play. The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades} and Chidwick's full house gave him a double up.

Daniel Dvoress
Daniel Dvoress

Daniel Dvoress jammed for 360,000 from the button and Jean-Noel Thorel called off his 230,000 stack from the big blind.

Jean-Noel Thorel: {6-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Daniel Dvoress: {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}

Thorel's pocket pair held out to leave Dvoress short following the {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{j-Spades} runout.

Dvoress then put in his last 130,000 first to act and was called by Stephen Chidwick from the big blind.

Daniel Dvoress: {j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Stephen Chidwick: {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

Dvoress had a gutshot to Broadway following the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop but had just four outs to hit after Chidwick improved to trips on the {a-Diamonds} turn. The {8-Diamonds} completed the board and Dvoress bowed out in fourth place.

Dvoress Doubles Through Thorel, Both Still Short

Niveau 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Jean-Noel Thorel shoved all in for 410,000 from under the gun and Daniel Dvoress stuck in his last 140,000 from the small blind. Adrian Mateos folded his big blind and the two hands were face up.

Daniel Dvoress: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

Dvoress was in a dominating position to double up his short stack and the runout of {10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{3-Hearts} ensured he did so. Thorel is now on the shortest stack but Dvoress is not far ahead of him.

Finally a Flop

Niveau 20 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

All four players took turns shoving all in preflop over the first 10 minutes of the level, but with no calls to speak of. Finally, Adrian Mateos raised to 80,000 under the gun and Daniel Dvoress just called in the big blind.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Dvoress checked to Mateos who bet 40,000. Dvoress thought for a moment but decided to ditch his cards, dropping to just six big blinds on the clear short stack.
