With around 9,000 chips in the pot, Lukas Benkovic checked from the small blind on a board of 5♣7♥6♦2♠. Lukasz Grossman sat on the button and made a bet of 5,000, which Benkovic eventually called.

The 4♣ river emerged from the deck and Benkovic checked again. Grossman fired a large bet of 13,100, almost enough to put Benkovic all in.

Benkovic quickly called and Grossmann showed J♥8♦ for the rivered straight.

"I should have shoved the flop," Benkovic stated while sliding his cards towards the muck.

Leibgorin's Eyes Do Not Deceive

The pot had grown to 5,000 chips when Michel Leibgorin, Jongwook Lee, and Ciprian Paunescu all checked the J♥A♠2♠ flop. Leibgorin then made a bet of 2,100 on the 7♠ turn for Lee to quickly fold. Paunescu stuck around with a call, however, and the 2♣ river rolled off.

Leibgorin, who uses a magnifying glass to be able to see the cards on the table, sized up to 3,900.

"I'm not sure if he can see it," joked Paunescu.

After Leibgorin correctly described all the cards on the table, Paunescu made the fold.

"If you can see the ace of spades, I'm folding," he added before his cards hit the muck.

Angelov did not need long to make the fold, and the sizable pot was shipped Ozdemir's way.

Wouter Beltz raised to 600 from middle position and Michele Nizzardelli came along from the small blind. Abraham Serrano then raised the price to 3,000 from the big blind, and only Nizzardelli called.

He checked the K♥10♥3♣ flop for Serrano to make a bet of 4,500. Nizzardelli called and the 7♦ was turned. Another check followed from Nizzardelli before Serrano downsized to 2,600.

Nizzardelli was not deterred by that bet and stuck in another call for the 2♠ river to complete the board. The deuce caused Nizzardelli to lead out promptly, for 10,000 chips.

Serrano snap called and showed his A♥K♣ for top pair. However, Nizzardelli had him beat with his 7♥2♥, who flopped a flush draw but made runner-runner two pair to scoop a big pot in the early stages of Day 1a.
