Varszegi Makes a Great Call for His Main Event Life

Niveau 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Tamas Varszegi opened the action to 2,000 and Alberto Stegeman defended his big blind with the call.

The flop came 2A5 and Tamas continued for 1,500 and again got the call from Stegeman.

The turn brought the 7 and Varszegi bet 6,500 into his opponent. Stegeman announced a raise with enough chips to put Varszegi all in.

A spell in the tank for a couple of minutes eventually turned into a call from Varszegi.

Cappiello Doubles Through Nikitins

Niveau 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Candido Cappiello opened to 2,000 from under the gun and found a trio of calls around the table.

Markkos Ladev checked the 967 flop in the big blind with Cappiello checking behind. Valeri Savov fired 2,500 in the hijack and Mihails Nikitins called in the cutoff. Ladev got out of the way before Cappiello check-raised all in for 35,700.

Savov quickly folded and Nikitins made the call.

Cappiello's overpair was looking for fade an ace or diamond to stay alive. The K turn and 3 river were safe, giving Capiello the double up. "Nice hand" said Nikitins and his chips slid across the table.

Farrell's Flop Check-Raise

Niall Farrell opened the cutoff to 2,200 and Cesar Garcia made the call on the button.

Farrell checked the flop of 427 to Garcia who fired 2,500.

Farrell then check-raised to 4,500 which prompted Garcia to fold.

Angelov's Aces Get Action

Niveau 8 : Blinds 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Patrick Berger opened to 1,600 from under the gun and was called by Ulter Dogan in middle position. Boris Angelov then moved all in from the big blind for 20,300, with Berger folding and Dogan tossing in the call.

Dogan found a pair and some additional outs on the Q102 flop, adding a straight draw on the K turn. Angelov saw a brick on the 3 river to earn the double up.

Spirins Shoves and Gets No Action

Sebastien Matrige opened to 2,000 and then faced the all-in shove from Pavels Spirins for around 30,000.

After a minute or two in the tank, Matrige eventually made the fold and Spirins took down the pot.

Nikitins Shoves the River and Gets it Through

Niveau 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Valeri Savov opened the action to 1,700 and got two callers in Mihails Nikitins and Markkos Ladev.

The three went to the flop of QJ8 and Savov continued for 2,200 only to be three bet from Nikitins to 7,500.

Ladev made the fold but Savov, after a short think, made the call. The river came 5 and Nikitins announced all in with a quick fold from Savov.

Silz Sees a Call

Niveau 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Maximilian Silz opened to 1,800 in the hijack and found calls from the two players seated directly to his left.

On the 459 flop, Silz slowed down with a check. Yvan Breccolini checked in the cutoff as did Suhan Guler on the button. The 3 turn saw Silz fire a bet of 2,500, producing a fold from Breccolini. Guler took his time, even grabbing raising chips at one point before making the call.

Silz led out again for 9,500 on the 9 river. Guler took another couple of minutes before deciding to toss in the call. Silz flipped over K9 for trip nines, taking down a big pot as Guler mucked.

Andersson Attacks Flop

Niveau 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Action picked up on the flop of 2510 with a bet of 2,100 from the button by Maxim Sheingart.

Fredrik Andersson in the big blind reraised to 5,200, which prompted Miroslav Alilovic to fold in middle position.

Sheingart also tossed his cards into the muck and Andersson scooped the pot.

Bastos Takes One Down on Showdown

Niveau 7 : Blinds 400/800, 800 ante

Eugenio Bastos opened to 2,000 and found two calls from Marcos Thielke and Fabio Peluso.

The three players saw a flop of A99 and the action checked around.

The turn card came A and Thielke led out for 2,500 and found only the original raiser Bastos with the call.

The river came Q and both players checked and showed their cards: Thielke had 33 and Bastos had 1010.

Thielke suggested a split pot and the dealer at first was chopping up the chips until the table pointed out the winning hand was for Bastos. "It nearly worked," said Thielke with a big smile.
