Ghashayar Gets the Fold From Cohen

The action was opened by Simon Brandstrom to 500 and Lucien Cohen made the call only to face a three bet from Iman Ghashayar to 2,100. Both players made the call and the three players went to the flop of 3KQ that they all checked around.

The turn card brought the Q to pair the board and Cohen led out for 2,000. Ghashayar again did not waste much time in three betting his opponent and Cohen one of the characters of any EPT went into the tank. Eventually Cohen made the fold and Ghashayar chipped up.

Zawadzki made a continuation-bet of 1,200 and Smith called once more. The 10 turn and 7 river were then checked by both players, after which Zawadzki showed 98 for two pair with tens and eights.

Smith played a higher two pair with his KK, and the pot was sent his way.

"I was set mining," Smith explained his preflop call while he was stacking his chips.

Mori Makes an Early Exit

Akihito Mori raised to 500 chips from under the gun and Wouter Beltz called on the button. Thomas Haverstad then three-bet to 3,300 from the small blind, and the action went back to Mori.

He promptly shoved all his chips in, for a total of 23,000. Beltz got out of the way but Haverstad called quicker than lightning to put the Japanese player at risk.

The turn card brought the K and again Fournier bet out to the tune of 6,000 with a quick call from his opponent. The river card was 3 and Fournier announced all in and was snapped called by Wessman.

The cards were turned over and Fournier saw the bad news. Wessman held 99 for a flopped set of nines that busted Fournier's AA. Fournier hit the rail and Wessman got a nice early double.
