Get Ready for Day 1b of the 2023 EPT Prague Main Event

Tournament Room

The chase for EPT Main Event Glory began yesterday at the 2023 PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague, with 131 players advancing from Day 1a to the tournament's second stage.

Leading the pack of survivors was Joao Mestre (359,000), who was also joined by Yulian Bogdanov (315,000) and Cheng Zhao (306,500) as the only other players to bag more than 200 big blinds.

The 412 entries have already contributed €2,808,150 to the prize pool. Of course, that figure will continue to swell as Day 1b is expected to have a bumper field filled with some of poker's biggest names.

Like yesterday, the action will kick off at 12 p.m. local time, with the action taking place at the Hilton Prague, which became a winter wonderland for last night's player's party.

Will there be a few sore heads this morning? Likely. But hopefully, any ailments will quickly subside as the next chapter of the €5,300 EPT Main Event unfolds.

2022 EPT Prague runner-up Antoine Saout opened from under the gun, and was called by Philipp Yalmanian in the big blind.

Both of them checked on the 742. But after Yalmanian checked again on the turn J, Saout bet 300. Yalmanian quickly called.

The 10 landed on the river, and Yalmanian checked again. Saout checked back, and waited for Yalmanian to show his Q10 to reveal J9 and win the pot.

On the 2108 flop, Kolarik led out for 300 and Derzhypilskyi called.

The 9 turn presented a second flush draw, and Kolarik bet 700 and Derzhypilskyi called again.
