Toan Chan Truong and Yalcin Aslan got all in preflop with Truong being the player at risk of elimination.
Toan Chan Truong: J♦J♣
Yalcin Aslan: A♦K♦
The flop came 8♣Q♦9♦, giving Aslan a lot more outs to win the pot. The A♠ on the turn propelled him into the lead with top pair. The K♥ came on the river and Truong was sent to the rail at the hands of Aslan.
Despite being among the chip leaders a couple of levels ago, Elton Ostreni was all in for his last 17,000 from the button. He was at risk against Marco Pacini, who had the bigger stack.
Elton Ostreni: AxJx
Marco Pacini: AxQx
Pacini made trips to remain the favorite following the Q♥Q♠2♠ flop but Ostreni turned outs to Broadway after the K♦ came into play. The A♥ completed the board to give Pacini a boat and the bust out.
Stefan Leenen moved all in for 6,500 from the cutoff and was called by Spanish poker veteran Abraham Serrano from the big blind.
Stefan Leenen: Qx10x
Abraham Serrano: AxQx
Leenen was dominated but had an open-ended straight draw following the J♦9♣2♦ flop to increase his number of outs. The Q♥ turn gave both players a pair of queens, but Serrano had the better kicker. The 10♥ appeared on the river to give Leened two pair for the double up.
Antonio Gonzalez raised to 1,200 from early position. Adria Torrelles shoved from the seat next to him for 8,500. Antonio Guirao then four-bet to 23,000 out of the big blind. Gonzalez folded and the cards were revealed.
Adria Torrelles: A♥8♥
Antonio Guirao: A♦Q♣
The runout of 9♦7♥3♣2♠4♦ didn't help Torrelles, as Guirao's ace-queen high was enough to send him to the rail.
Last year at in Barcelona, France's Simon Wiciak defeated João Sydenstricker heads-up to win the EPT Main Event for €1,134,375.
Wiciak bested the field of 2,120 runners for the golden trophy, his first major live poker title, and the career-best seven-figure score.
The Frenchman struck a three-handed deal with Sydenstricker and Britain's Carl Shaw that flattened the payouts, and the trio played on for the trophy and an additional €108,975 in prize money.

With roughly 9,000 in the pot, on a flop of 6♦3♣8♦, Merab Meladze shoved for 11,000 with Maria Konnikova calling to put him at risk from the button.
Merab Meladze: 9♦8♣
Maria Konnikova: 8♥8♠
Meladze needed runner-runner to stay alive. He found some help on the 10♦ turn, but the Q♥ river didn't improve his hand and Konnikova's set of eights would eliminate him from the tournament.

Gabriel Castro made it 1,700 from middle position before Damiano Zicca three-bet to 4,200 from the hijack. Top ten stack Liutauras Armanavicius called from the small blind and Castro also put in the extra chips.
Zicca continued for 6,700 on the Q♣8♥4♣ flop and only Armanavicius called. Zicca then sized down to 5,000 on the 4♠ turn, and was called by his opponent once more.
Armanavicius checked for a third time and went into the tank after Zicca put in his last 14,000 on the 10♣ river. Armanavicius mulled over his options before making a one-chip call.
Zicca tabled A♠A♣ for a pair of aces, besting Armanavicius's A♦Q♦.
Nick Palma is also at the table and has already added to his starting stack shortly after taking his seat. Can the American put in a deep run at one of his favorite stops of the year?
